Obviously a great day for everyone in adding this scumbag to the Top Ten list.
Also this is the first time in a long time and the first time during this decade that a fugitive from the Pacific Northwest has been added.

Mederos is the first fugitive added under new FBI top 10 director Christopher Wray. I believe what I do now as I had they combined since they were wanted for the exact same crime is make separate threads for Richard Sanchez and Andres Mendez.
I'm glad Mederos was added as catching him is more important than the pain in the butt this causes the site lol.

It really is honestly but as I've stated, Christopher Wray was quick asf in adding someone. Comey had been on the job 6 months by the time he added his first Fugitive.

Also should I delete the references to Mendez and Sanchez?

If you could yeah, I'll edit and explain later, this is going to take some work fixing everything up and explaining since Mederos is not the only fugitive in this case and we covered this case as three at once previously.

Also I had in the discussion thread I'm not trying to discredit Wray but the list additions are basically a collaborative process that most likely started before he even took over. I have no doubt he's doing a good job though since he's basically from the same era that Mueller and Comey were.

Wray’s addition of Santiago Mederos will be similar to Mueller’s when he added Preciado Jr. in 2007 (wanted for a 2000 crime) so this addition truly reminds me of that addition.

Copies from my threads on Sanchez and Mendez (a bit redundant since the FBI link explains a little but didn't want to leave any details out) Additional relevant links on case: blog.thenewstribune.com/crime/2010/03/31/four-more-charged-in-deadly-south-tacoma-shooting/ blog.thenewstribune.com/crime/2012/03/23/man-sentenced-to-16-years-in-2010-slaying-in-tacoma-alley/ www.kirotv.com/news/news/crime-law/verdict-reached-camille-love-murder-trial/nGLtD/www.komonews.com/news/local/75-year-prison-term-in-killing-of--138678149.htmlSummary of overall case from articles: -The 25-year old man killed was Saul Lucas-Alfonso. A total of five men, (Mederos and two other current fugitives- Richard Sanchez and Andres Mendez), a man named Byron Alvarez, and a 15-year old boy whose named was not released, were involved in his death. Charging documents indicate the five accused in Lucas-Alfonso’s death went out early Thursday to collect on a debt that Alvarez believed he was owed by another man. The man was also believed to be involved with Alvarez's wife. The five allegedly broke into the debtor’s car, which was parked in an alley behind the 7000 block of South Puget Sound Avenue, and started ransacking it for valuables, the documents state. Lucas-Alfonso and two friends arrived in the alley, confronted the group of five suspects and a fight broke out. The 15-year-old boy told detectives his group started to lose the fight, so they headed to their vehicle. Someone in his group fired a shot, which hit Lucas-Alfonso. Two members of the returning group approached one of Lucas-Alfonso’s friends and demanded his wallet. When he refused, he was knocked to the ground, and punched and kicked multiple times. The 15-year old boy claims it was shortly after this that the gunshots broke out. -Byron Alvarez would be captured a short time afterwards and would be sentenced to 16 years in jail. Mederos, Sanchez, and Mendez would all become fugitives and according the 15-year old boy, all of the men agreed to say nothing about the shooting. -20-year old Camille Love is the alleged other victim of Santiago Mederos and Richard Sanchez's 2010 crime spree. Camille Love, and her brother, Josh Love, were headed home in February 2010 after visiting with family members on Tacoma's east side. Prosecutors said Sandoval and a group of fellow gang members were out seeking revenge for a murder of a friend. According to charging documents, Sandoval and his friends mistook Camille and Josh Love for rival gang members because of her red car and opened fire. -One of the men involved, Juan Zuniga, was murdered by members of his own gang two months after the shooting. Most of the remaining people involved in Love's death were given prison sentences that ranged between 11 and 75 years. Eduardo Sandoval, the only one who did not plead guilty, was given the 75 years sentence. Mederos and Sanchez are the only two men believed involved in the shooting that remain at large.

The reason I think Santiago Mederos made the Top ten and not the others is because Investigators think it was him that was the trigger man in the shootings and a federal warrant was issued for him in 2016. I haven’t heard anything about any of his other co-conspirators having federal warrants issued for them

It could also be possible that the reason is the FBI has specific information (which they understandably they can't reveal) that Mederos might be in Mexico which would make this an international/crossing state lines case while they don't for Mendes and Sanchez.
Logic would say they possibly fled to Mexico also, but perhaps the tips/leads aren't as specific.

I'm liking the keeping track, not the fact that he's been on the list for a month. Mederos is new to the list but has been wanted since 2010 so I wouldn't expect him to be captured as quickly as the others.
In theory, he should last longer than Castillo.

Where as I do think Mederos will be on the list for awhile, probably a year or so. Castillo I’m a little mixed as he’s been on the run for more than a year, but I do think he won’t last long as they don’t mention El Salvador anymore so they narrowed it down to Mexico. Also part of the reason why is because his family is likely from Mexico. Anyways I got way off topic.
