Going to remain cautiously optimistic, remember the guy in Victor, Idaho everyone thought was Brown? Also thought this was interesting- one Facebook page asks if the Geezer Bandit may actually be Jason Derek Brown. I was ready to laugh, until I read the site and they actually make valid points. The Geezer Bandit hits a bunch of banks in So. Cal but for some reason avoids Orange County and in one photo was wearing an FBI hat. In addition, one note asks for $50,000, the same amount of he stole from Palomares. If the residents of Oakhurst really have spotted Brown, it would lend further credence to the theory: www.facebook.com/GeezerBanditisJasonDerekBrown?fref=ts

Update: Whoever this man is has been caught in the Oakhurst/Coarsegoald area of California. He provided the officers with misinformation about his identity and was subsequently arrested. He's now been taken to the Madera County Jail where the FBI will attempt to confirm his identity. sierranewsonline.com/arrest-of-possible-murder-suspect-in-ylp/

I'm hoping this really is Jason Derek Brown, not only to finally capture him but to end the seemingly endless number of theories we and others have predicted about his whereabouts.

Well hey the speculating and theories on fugitives are part of the specialty and fun of this site. But yeah I really want him to be caught not just because of the tragic and senseless murder he committed, but also admittedly because I want my curiosity to be satisfied.

Well hey the speculating and theories on fugitives are part of the specialty and fun of this site. Yes but Brown in particular is driving me insane with wanting to know what he's been doing for the past 11 years since anything is possible, lol.

The other reasons I wanted Jason Derek Brown caught so badly included the slight chance we might figure out who else he might've hurt since the turn of December 2004, and to finally open up some space for the 505th addition to the FBI's Ten Most Wanted list!

Yes but Brown in particular is driving me insane with wanting to know what he's been doing for the past 11 years since anything is possible, lol. If this turns out to be him would I be surprised he was caught in California? No. But I also wouldn't have been surprised if he was caught in Hong Kong. He really is (and hopefully was) a fugitive who could be anywhere in the U.S. or the entire world, which is what has made capturing him so difficult up to this point at least. If there's anything surprising if this is confirmed, it might be the sudden and relatively mundane way he went down.

Update: It's not him. sierranewsonline.com/man-taken-into-custody-is-not-fbis-suspect/I admittedly went from cautiously optimistic to the brink of excitement after this guy refused to identify himself. Just stopping the guy was one thing but the fact that he was uncooperative and arrested heightened my optimism. So I am disappointed but not surprised. Back to the drawing board and guessing game and wondering if the FBI will get a Top 10 capture in 2015.

Sadly this isn't Brown, but thankfully law enforcement did the right thing and verified who this guy was. Let's return to speculating and ideas on his location.

While he could be anywhere by now, I honestly feel like he was in Thailand at one point in time, as recently in a few years ago. Those articles don't come out about the FBI asking for help without a specific reason and Bangkok has a red light district that would attract Brown.
It's part of the reason I wondered about the probability him being caught in California today since although it wouldn't surprise me if he's still in the U.S., the odds are more likely that he's overseas somewhere.
The question for me is where is he now.

OK here's what happened with the look-a-like, he was cited for being an unlicensed driver, having no insurance, and using an out-of-state plate to avoid paying California registration fees. And then released.
This according to Sierra News online.
So there was obviously a reason he didn't cooperate but it wasn't because of being a wanted fugitive.
At the same time, it's the guy's fault he got arrested and inconvenienced because all he had to do was be honest and cooperate, which he didn't.

Crime Watch Daily is doing a segment on Brown this week and promises new details. I will post the link if they add it to their website, which they usually do.

Will post the link later (if the site posts it) but despite the promise, not really anything new, but it was a good segment. The FBI still gets tips from all over the country and the world, (the agent said some more than others but didn't specify probably for good reason), and was working on five active tips the week Matt Doran (the host of Crime Watch Daily) interviewed him. This isn't a surprise, considering the FBI gets tons of tips all the time on Brown, yet he still hasn't been caught.
