Interesting comments from a Facebook poster in a group about Brown, apparently admin of group:
"I’ve done countless hours of research on this case. Thousands of hours spent digging through public records, cold calling family members whose names I could find in public databases, tracking down possible sightings of him, etc.
Here are the facts that I’ve determined.
1. He’s still alive. I talked to a cousin who saw him a few years ago with family in California.
2. His family has a lot of money. And I mean a lot.
3. He doesn’t look at all like the surfer dude/Sean Penn look anymore. His sister said he was looking to have plastic surgery before he ran off. He most likely is overweight and has dyed his hair black. Also wearing a beard. He probably feels more comfortable going out now with a Covid mask.
4. I talked to someone who knew him who saw him with an older couple in North Carolina. It seems like he is frequently on the move. He has family in Florida, Arkansas, Ohio, Texas, Utah, Arizona and California.
5. He’s a master at making fake IDs. When him and his brother were caught stealing golf clubs in Notth Carolina before the murders, the fake IDs were so good that it fooled the police.
6. The FBI isn’t as smart as many people think. Any serious tips get completely blown off. Anyone who really has information needs to go to their local police.
7. If anyone doesn’t feel comfortable talking to the police can contact me.
8. If anyone wants to share their sighting or theory can contact me as well.
9. He’s 53 years old now. Quit posting pics of young, thin surfer looking dudes who looked like him when he was in his 20s."
Please keep in mind that was from the poster. But he seemed credible and claimed to even speak to a cousin who said he saw Brown with family in California three years ago.
Also I know this website is hesitant to criticize law enforcement we sometimes work with, but I can see the FBI getting tunnel vision with Brown. They get so many tips on him that never seem to go anywhere that it's easy to just meet every one with skepticism. It's like a boy who cried wolf situation to where when there finally is a good tip its not noticed thanks to all the timewasters sending them ridiculous tips like photos of 22-year-old surfers. I'm not excusing it, but addressing the poster's criticism and why I understand he feels that way.
