Hello Everyone! I'm new here and stumbled across this site and I felt like giving my two cents since we all want this bastard caught. I think he's still alive and living under the radar in western Canada in close proximity to his favorite vacation spot. After reading through this thread I noticed a lot of focus on his love for golf but not so much his love for skiing and snowboarding. As much as he loves golf, I just don't see that as much, partly because he could be easily recognized. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he was working a seasonal job at one of the local mountains under an assumed name. It could be as simple as operating a ski lift. I just try to think about what I'd do. If I knew that I needed to make ends meet but needed to keep a low profile as much as possible what better way to do that than wearing a ski mask/sunglasses or snow goggles/snow gear and operating a ski lift. In the mean time I'm sure he has woman in his life and maybe even kids. The money ran out a long time ago but I wouldn't be surprised if he coached his significant other on starting a side business in her name (i.e. snowmobile rentals). If it were me assuming his profile, I'd work that seasonal job, go skiing/snowboarding, ride snowmobiles in the winter because that's what I love to do, own a dirt bike and/or an ATV but no car (because I live close enough to everything where a car would be useless plus if I got pulled over for something stupid that could mark the end), In the summer I could still ride my dirt bike and ATVs and still keep a low enough profile. At the end of the day it's just a theory, you've all made great points and he could literally be anywhere. In my opinion, I just think that makes the most sense. I'm sure he looks himself up from time to time. He's smart but also makes stupid mistakes and I doubt he'd use a tor browser/vpn/etc...instead he may think the local Fed/ex kinkos (or some place similar to use the internet) would suffice. I wonder if the FBI can and/or has, filtered search results for "Jason Derek Brown""Jason Derek Brown Updates" "Jason Derek Brown FBI's most wanted" etc, and somehow geo target those queries to an IP address in locations where they believe he may be hiding out. At least send an agent to the locations where they think he may be hiding out and post the most wanted pictures in town/talk with the locals. I found this website www.cracked.com/personal-experiences-2416-im-fugitive-from-justice-how-i-disappeared-from-society.html and found quite a few similarities, like $54K well $56K minus say $1300 that you sent that guy for the damage to his vehicle. That story had some eerie similarities, but I highly doubt it was him, just thought I'd share.

That theory you have on brown working in Western Canada is one of the many possibilities. Also I don’t think Brown would try everything possible to stay at large which would include attempting to get a drivers license and a car, and it’d make his significant other question why he hasn’t gotten his drivers license or a car especially being a 48 year old man currently. In terms of publicity, they have been doing a great job in the last 10 1/2 years since he was added to the FBI Top Ten, however I think that tactic of going out to places where they believe he’s living in and showing an image from 14 years ago would be a little tricky since he could have altered or aged a ton in 14 years. That being said, I think they should do another round of age progressed images since the current ones came out in about August 2010. So I think we’d be overdue within the next 3 years for new.

Hey dripg,
Thanks for sharing that interesting article, also interesting he mentioned North Carollina since JDB once got arrested for stealing golf clubs there.
Also, one thing interesting about JDB and whatever recreational activities he may be doing is he's now in his mid-40's, which basically begs the question as to how active he wants to be. In 2018, even your 50's you can be a spring chicken, but even me in my near mid-30's parts of my body that never hurt before suddenly hurt if I bump them into something lol. Golf is a relatively easy sport for anyone in any age to play, and the older Brown gets, the more I wonder if he's as "active" as he was in the past.

I honestly think Brown is in a warm-weather environment with an occasional return to the US. That would explain the Salt Lake City sighting. Remember, when a package addressed to him was intercepted, the package contained nearly all of his warm-weather clothes.

Boy do I have a story to tell here about Brown. So earlier today at my job I saw a guy that had an uncanny look to Jason Derek Brown (today 5/29/18), and he had a beard with the top being a blondish color and the bottom being grayish and he was wearing a red shirt, green shorts and sandals... similar to one of the pics of him shirtless. This guy was texting so erraticly on his phone and kept looking everywhere like if he was paranoid, so I asked him if he needed a cart and I looked at his face and it shocked me that he looked identical to Brown. The guy said yeah sure I’d like a cart, and I went back and retrieved smaller shopping carts and he said let me get one of those let’s trade, and then I asked a lady and he looked back all paranoid. He wasn’t in there store for too long, came out, told me have a great day without me popping the question and I saw he was loading stuff onto a Jeep Liberty, then he proceeded to walk into the store AGAIN and I took advantage of the fact to Check his vehicle out and saw that he had Connecticut tags and wrote the plate number down to not take any chances and actually hope they bring him in if it’s him. So afterwards he came out again and and I told him “ you forgot something” and he said “yeah and (gibberish I couldn’t process then) have a great day”. He left his parking spot and headed to the 7-11/Shell gas station that’s right next to the store and that was it. I then submitted a tip to the FBI about the incident with the tag number and vehicle. Also the mans voice is identical to the voice of Jason Brown since it was aired on dateline and he looked like this with a beard and graying. Any thoughts?

I think regardless of whether the man was Brown or not, he seemed to be acting weird or suspicious. Perhaps just a weird guy but you never know. (There was the case of accused murderer Dudley Forbes on AMW. A woman who worked at a bank thought a guy who wanted an account (or something like that) was acting shady and looked like Forbes. She called AMW. They arrest the guy and it turns out its NOT Forbes but was another (non-AMW) fugitive wanted for murder!)
It was better safe than sorry to send in a tip and to be honest I think EVERYONE has sent in a tip on someone who looks like Brown to AMW or the FBI at some point. (Even me lol).
This is not to discredit your sighting, but in all likelihood the man wasn't Brown, but was probably acting weirdly enough to warrant a tip just in case.
I'd just be careful when it comes to your job and stuff. Like if you anonymously send a tip fine but don't have your boss have to come up to you and be like "So numerous customers are complaining you're telling the FBI they're a top ten fugitive lol"
Anyway as far as Brown, the FBI does investigate all tips, so I'm sure they'll review it at least.

Yeah I mean you never know the man could have not been Brown and still wanted for something. Also you did the right thing in not asking or confronting him if he was Brown. You dont want to tip off a fugitive in the crazy scenario it actuall ly was him not to mention he could have been armed.
I have had encounters similar to yours. I loved AMW and one of my few negatives in regards to it is it made me paranoid. (I sent in my fair share of tips over the years lol).

I’m thinking, if Brown is dead, and his body was never found, how could this be? How could he kill himself, or have someone kill him, and not have his body found. Some possible theories could be… 1.) Someone spotted Brown in Portland and knew he had the stash of cash on him. The person/criminal killed Brown, took the money, and tossed Brown’s body in a dumpster never to be found. Crazy I know, but it could have happened. 2.) Brown, unable to deal with what he did to Keith, committed suicide in Canada. Brown would not want his body discovered, so he went up into the dense Canadian forest, took his life in some very remote location, never to be found. 3.) Again, Brown, unable to deal with what he did to Keith, commits suicide by taking a small boat out to some large lake. He attaches weights (lots) to his body, sinks the boat and himself, never to found. I never understood why Brown sent his belongings back to his brother David after the crime. He knew the FBI would confiscate everything, so why do it. Brown even sent back his laptop giving the FBI possibly something to work with. The FBI can get back deleted info as we all know. I thought Brown sending back his laptop was beyond amateur-hour, but if you’re going to commit suicide you wouldn’t care.

I think Brown looks nothing like he once did. If he were 60 pounds heavier, wore a hat, wore some dorky thick-rimmed black libraian glasses, black dyed hair, and had a small black beard with mustache...you wouldn't know him if he was standing next to you...and I didn't even mention plastic surgery yet.
Here's a tip from the FBI...EARS. I know the configuration of Brown's left ear better then my living room. If I think I've spotted him in my travels I'll check out that left ear pronto. People change their face but not the ears. There are a few pics of Brown's ears when doing a google search on Brown and clicking images. Study that ear until it's fused in your brain. A few tips on his left ear...
1.) He really doesn't have an ear-lobe. It's more a flak of skin. 2.) The helix (rim of the ear) is a bit mangled from 12:00 to 3:00 o'clock. but smooths out from 3:00 to 6:00 o'clock. 3.) His entire left ear structure looks a bit choppy.
Hope this helps.

You know something, there are certain physical features no one would think to look for that break cases wide open, so this could actually turn out to be a great clue!
(Although much more noticeable, what confirmed the identity of William Greer (an AMW fugitive on the U.S.M.S. top 15 list that had been on the run for a decade), was that he was missing a toe. He didn't look that different from his initial appearance when they caught him, but even if he did, you can't hide that physical aspect and that toe's going to stand out.
Brown's ear lobe is obviously a lot less visible to the naked eye (although Greer would obviously wear shoes in public), but still a potential vital clue and one that he probably can't change.
