I swear, it seems Eric Rudolph and Alan Golder were on every other week back in the day. And it's not like Golder was the world's worst criminal at that point. Occasionally certain fugitive cases did get what seemed like back-to-back airings. Did the airings for Eric Rudolph seem any different or where they repeating the same information pretty much each time? I know his case was much more serious than the manhunt at the time for Alan Golder.

I can tell you that last airing was sort of shoehorned in with the Officer Horner segment where it didn't belong. I think they were even trying to suggest Rudolph could have been a possible suspect in that case, but it's apparent he wasn't responsible. After awhile, I tend to zone out with all of the repeated segments.

Wow I saw every episode since 1996 and obviously memory fades over time but I honestly don't recall JW calling out Biggie's celebrity friends. So many people say the cops didn't care about his or Tupac's cases but I also don't remember any of their friends offering reward money. One of the conspiracy theories, at least regarding the Biggie murder, is that the LAPD actually had a role in it. A now-retired detective claims that some of his rogue colleagues were co-conspirators in getting him killed. They dedicated an entire segment to VH1's Behind the Music on Biggie about it. EDIT 1: Regarding Eric Rudolph, I recall Rick Segall saying during Rudolph's capture report in 2003 that he was profiled 22 times on AMW. EDIT 2: Wow, I didn't know Angel Rivera got a brief profile in 1999! I'd always assumed his first profile was in 2002.

1998 episode (not sure, but I think this episode immediately followed the one I did just previous, or pretty close
Markeith Braxton - Is wanted for his part in the murder of a Los Angeles pawn shop worker named Igor during a botched robbery attempt.
"Tie Robber" - Nickname given to bank robber who wears a necktie and dress shirt or suit during robberies. He has robbed many banks all across the U.S., but mainly Florida. He has not attempted to disguise his identity much and surveillance cameras have captured his image many times, but he remains unidentified.
Captured: Glen Horner - Criminal has been captured.
Daniel Fling - another airing
Public Enemy #1: Eddie Mathis - another airing, lasting three minutes.
Chris Trickle - Race car driver was shot while driving in Las Vegas, suspect and motive unknown. His car drifted off the road and crashed into a billboard. He survived for many months afterward, but eventually succumbed to his injuries. New witness has come forward with some potentially valuable information, but authorities are seeking other witnesses.
Selim "Jake" Kelmendi - Insane story about a guy who sexually harassed and physically assaulted numerous coworkers, even raping one and threatening the life (and that of her unborn child) of another. Also beat a store clerk for seemingly no reason. He was apprehended, but a stupid judge gave him "political refugee status" and was released.
Vincent Douglas - Quickie profile of man wanted for murdering his ex-girlfriend.
Tammy Meier & Chelsea Gragg - Mother and daughter went missing from Phoenix, AZ, last seen at a dentist's office. Vehicle later found abandoned 10 miles away. (Remains of both were discovered in the desert that October, suspect and motives unknown and the case is still unsolved, 20 years later).

Good news is that on April 25, 1998, Markeith Braxton became Capture #506. On May 8, 1998, a tipster identified The Tie Robber as Francis Joseph Reilly, making him Capture #507. The Chris Trickle murder remains unsolved to his day. His murder resulted in a bill that removed the time limit for prosecuting a murder in Nevada, previously murder cases had to be prosecuted within a year after the crime had occurred. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_TrickleSelim "Jake" Kelmendi was arrested in Germany on January 25, 1999, making him Capture #540. The Tammy Meier and Chelsea Gragg homicides are also still unsolved to this day. www.abc15.com/news/crime/old-time-crime-mother-daughter-found-dead-in-desert-in-1998-cause-is-still-a-mysteryAlso did the Vincent Douglas brief profile mention a city or state he was wanted out of. The problem is that "Vincent Douglas" is a fairly common name and I can't find any information on him online.

The only thing was that "Perry Vincent Douglas" was 59 in 1999. It's entirely possible that AMW did a typo for his age during the short profile, he would have been 58 in 1998. What do you think Walshfan?

No, they showed a picture of Vincent Douglas and he was definitely way younger than 59.

I do have a thread for Tammy and Chelsea's murders now up as well: amwfans.com/thread/6005/unknown-tammy-meier-chelsea-killer

May 8, 1999 (563 fugitives caught to date) (partial episode)
Unknown bank robber - Disguised himself as a postal worker and visited a bank manager at home in Shelley, ID. He then forced her to wear a bomb, rob her own bank, and then gave her long and complex instructions on how to drop the money. Rudy Montoya - Is wanted for selling drugs and stolen cars out of Los Angeles. I was going through these old posts and noticed nobody updated any of these. The Shelley, Idaho, bank robber was later identified as Thomas Snouffer. He was arrested after he tried to pull off another heist with the same MO, but the victim got away. AMW mentioned this case when they first profiled the Erie Collar Bomber, as it was so similar. Rudy Montoya was found dead in 2001.

"Manhattan Rapist" - Unidentified rapist has raped 14 women in Manhattan's Upper East Side and attempted several more since 1994. Latest attack was three weeks previous to airdate. Renowned composite sketch artist Jeannie Boylan creates drawing of suspect. Don Richard Davis - Young man is wanted for rapes of two classmates. Kristin Smart - Famous case of young California college student who disappeared from campus after attending a party there. Another college student, Paul Flores, is suspected of raping and killing her. Tomas Alcanta - Is wanted for killing his young son-in-law out of Los Angeles. Michael Cleary - Is wanted out of South Haven, MI after breaking into a rustic cabin and killing the three people who lived there. Is described as a survivalist. Eric Rudolph - What 1998 episode would be complete without it? Elisabeth Huster - Girl who disappeared from Oregon and her mother is suspected of killing her. She is still missing to this day, 21 years later. www.charleyproject.org/cases/h/huster_elisabeth.htmlHugo Zarco - Is wanted out of Illinois for killing a teenager.

According to web.archive.org's record of the original AMW website, Tomas Alcantar was also aired in 1997. I have no idea if he was ever arrested, however I've never seen him on any version of the Los Angeles Police Most Wanted page. Hugo Zarco was arrested in Mexico in 2006 where he was teaching English and had gotten married. He was sentenced to 27 years in prison after pleading guilty. Don Richard Davis was caught in Cleveland in 2000 after a traffic stop. He was sentenced to 99 years in prison. Michael Cleary was shot and killed by police in 1999. I'm not sure if there was ever an arrest in the Manhattan Serial Rapist case. The issue is that because Manhattan is so populated, there's unfortunately been more than one serial rapist in that area, so I don't want to get any cases mixed up. As far as I can tell the case was still unresolved up until 2001. I also don't know if the statute of limitations applies for this case (Can anyone with knowledge of New York state law try to answer that if possible).

Were there TWO famous missing women cases named Elizabeth Smart?

No, I was wrong, it's Kristin Smart. How odd that two of the most famous ones share a last name. Fixing it now. Though Elizabeth was a child when she went missing.
