Thanks for making me feel welcomed Scumhunter . Catching the bad guys is the most important thing we can do and it's not debatable (like what's said on the debates) which is good. A site like this is doing a service to society by putting there faces out there and talking about where they may be. All the members on this site may have grown up with fugitives from different eras and it's good when a 20 year veteran and 9 or 10 year veteran exchange stories on how they started up because it makes for a good story and gives us a chance to talk about one another's experiences with AMW and sleuthing.

Yeah I understand haha the long responses are always good . But wow your a veteran when it comes to these things... The FBI ten most wanted list pulled me into the subject during the Summer of 2005, on my way to second grade. I watched AMW as a 3rd grader in 2006, because I wanted to catch the bad guys and my parents sat down and didn't want me watching AMW so I decided to watch it in the Basement from time to time when I wasn't outside playing with friends, So basically I grew up with Fugitives like Alexis Flores and Jason Brown on the list. I also kept theory journals about AMW cases that I would watch, the Top Ten fugitives, missing persons. I first heard of Bishop on the 30th anniversary of the case by reading about him in a local magazine and the Washington post and since then I've been keeping tabs. AMW was a huge loss and with all of my theories in mind I decided to find any sleuthing sites and I came on here as a lurker beginning in Late 2013 and I decided earlier this year to finally join, and honestly this site is one of the most well organized and some very open minded members on here and it's been a great experience hands down. I've calculated you're part of the high school class of 2016. I graduated in 2008, and when I was your age, I still had the face, slim build, and other features of an 11 or 12 year old child. Where I live, high school graduates still retaining preteen traits has gotten more common since I started my senior year. What's your take? On topic: I saw a few clips of some 2004 broadcasts, about 2/5 of the 2005 broadcasts, and 3/4 of the 2006 broadcasts. I saw nearly every AMW broadcast of 2007 except for 2-17-007 because that one slipped my mind. I saw every broadcast of 2008 except 1-26-008, which coincided with Winter Formal night, because I accidentally scheduled the VCR to start recording at the wrong hour. I saw nearly every broadcast of 2009 through 2012, except for some of the 2-hour FOX specials. About Elisa Lam: If there've been so many mysterious and/or supernatural deaths at the hotel where Elisa Lam stayed, why hasn't it been shut down?

Yes I'm suppose to be part of the high school class of 2016 but I got held back 1 year so I'll be graduating next spring.
I'm slim build, I have the face of a 15 year old even though I'm 18 now. Many of these people here where I live most of them change so fast, before you know it they have full mustaches and beards and some like you said retain their preteen appearance.
Apparently there was a theory about the hotel ownership this guy on YouTube actually talks a lot about this case, he does these segments of what he calls "Brain Scratch" to tell the facts and his opinions.
How long have you been doing the sleuthing 912thamwuser???

Depending on where certain youth live, their odds of looking older or younger may differ. I was born in late 1990, but when I'm perfectly shaven and wash my hair, I look like I was born in 2000 or 2001 as well.
It was only in this decade that I started speculating on where various fugitives could be hiding out or the suspects' chances of even still being alive. That was in circa '012 (age 21, looked about 14) through '014 (age 23, looked 14-15).

I live in the Maryland suburbs of D.C. And I guess the stress of the everyday commute and routine plays a factor (not to say they age quickly or offend anyone in big cities). I honestly haven't used a razor at all and my face looks completely clean, although I have a pock mark on my cheek that makes me look like Fidel Urbina lol. Did you lurk on the site before joining?? Do you have a strong suit on certain fugitives like say most wanted list fugitives?

Other than keeping race standings for my annual most-wanted lists, I've never noticed myself to have a strong suit on any category of fugitives in any way.
I remember when the old AMW forums were dismantled on 12-12-012. If I remember correctly, I must've google searched for other forums dedicated to America's Most Wanted and its legacy, then I came across this one, then I matched derekAMW (present-day "HeadMarshal") to a forum member I recognized from a previous forum, and I signed up, followed the directions as closely as I knew how, and the rest is history. Here, I don't remember lurking, but on the old AMW webforums, I lurked from circa August to December '008 before signing up around the turn of '009.

Wow lol that sounds fascinating... So you know derekAMW for years now because of the other forums?
Now where I'm strongly suited is in the FBIs top ten since I started off with them and since AMW was cancelled I went back to dedicating most of my time to them.
The Hunt is alright compared to AMW and what I missed is how they covered multiple cases in 1 hour, but at least the hunt goes in detail in that 1 hour. Also CNN covers politics a lot now with the presidential elections and there hasn't been a chance to air reruns which annoys me and makes me blame politics haha.
I like doing this more than talking about politics because I've done this longer and there is no mud slinging debates by politicians on ideological views a person has or whether your a Democ or a Repub... It's pretty straight forward and with a goal of catching a fugitive of finding a missing person which of course isn't debatable.
Although there's some fugitives that I do remember and I want caught so badly is Carl Alfred Eder, basically the one that gives me sorta anger and sadness because of how he repaid the man that took him in (forgot his name) and murdered his entire family it makes me shake my head in anger and sadness.

I didn't want to bring age into this but I am impressed by our young posters here like toptenhunter, bountyhunter/kingofclubs and their knowledge of cases! I believe derekamw/HeadMarshal also got started early if I'm not mistaken. (Toptenhunter, I believe you use the cellphone app, so you still see the old screen names of posters LOL. Even when you change your screen name, the profile name remains the same which is what comes up on many cell phones. Nothing I can do about that, it's a proboards thing).
Also, 912th, you came here because I invited you! I e-mailed all the regular posters from amw.com to tell them to about the site. Everyone besides kingroman because he was a troll he would post false rumors for amusement on the old message board. He found the site anyway and I approved him on the condition he behaves himself since this site would actually be moderated. (The mods pretty much abandoned amw.com once it was obvious the show was headed towards cancellation). Unfortunately, he continued to post false stuff so I had to ban him. (I take no pleasure in banning anyone, but I had to in his case, but hopefully now you get the inside joke if I ever mention him again LOL.)
I think we pretty much got everyone back besides a guy named Tony (I did e-mail him back then but I guess he got busy with life).

Yes I do I use the Taptalk app for IPhone, so I post on the go lol. I'm glad this site is very tight knit group with a few outsiders joining which makes it pretty interesting. Gives us a good chance to exchange stories on how we started.
Many young people aren't into these topics as much anymore because of these police shootings of teens which brings mistrust among young people towards police and I see that first hand in school and sleuthers are a rare breed today because they don't want to be snitches.

Not entirely the same thing but I can relate to the fear of the unknown as to when I was a freshman in college in NYC during 9/11. This was when everyone still had flip phones which were for the most part weren't working that day and social media wasn't as prevalent so what the made situation scary was really the lack of information and only having radios if you had a walkman or something of the sort (if you were outside) and television (if you were at home) to rely on.

Oh yes it's good to share experience, I mean police scanner apps... The media covering it nationwide reminds me that this is a real deal thing. The guy has body armor and knows police tactics so I fear all this a lot as you can see by the poster by the Prince Georges county police.

Not sure where to post this but wanted to share this since I found it amusing, our site got our first "hate mail" in our contact form, which frankly I'm surprised hasn't happened already lol:
"Name: Lynn
Comments: I just wanted to sayis all you are stupid ignorant idiots.derek never touched ANY child EVER!all this is is crap .all of it he served his time for something he didnot do leave him alone so he can try to live a normal life but none of you will let him be.im stating how I feel and see that whole mess"
First of all- I have no idea what case this lady is talking about. I'm going to assume she means Derek Ferguson since he was on the run for failing to register as a sex offender.
In any case, apparently we are or rather "all you are" stupid ignorant idiots when this woman can't use correct grammar, punctuation, and/or capitalization. Not to mention if this is Derek Ferguson, he was convicted. How we can be stupid ignorant idiots when twelve other people apparently thought he was guilty is beyond me. Let's assume for argument's sake, he was innocent. We wouldn't be the only people who wrongfully thought he was guilty. I'd say at least 90 percent of people who read his story would think he was guilty also. Having faith in a justice system that is far from perfect but also far better than many other countries I do not believe is ignorant. He was convicted. What else are we supposed to think?
And leave him alone, let him live a normal life? Aww. Sorry lady but a man convicted of child molestation is someone the public should know about. Even if he was removed from this site, he'd still have this on his record whenever he applied for a job, moved to a new neighborhood, or had to do anything that required a background check.
And that is the irony since if she had just stated the specific case rather than making me guess I might have just removed him from the site anyway if it was no longer an active case. An AMW or Hunt capture, or a very public non-tv case? Hell no, I wouldnt remove them (except Cathy Morales, whose case was becoming unfair to the victim after it turned out AMW had some inaccuracies). But I have better things to do with my life than have drama over someone who was only a 30 second crime show network PSA indirect capture. So if someone were to put up a big stink about a case, request it be removed from the site, if it wasn't a major case and wasn't an AMW/Hunt case, I'd probably just remove it anyway just not to deal with the headache. (The one exception being if it was a case where friends or family members of the victim or victims commented on it). Since she couldn't be bothered to state which case this was, I can't be bothered to remove it from the site.
Just stating how I feel and that whole mess.
