He was very well liked, very intelligent, charismatic and loyal to friends, but he was involved in dangerous gang activity. Tupac was arrested eight times in the early and mid-90's and served an eight-month jail stint for rape during that time as well. In 1994, he was shot five times but survived. His concerned friends worried his gang lifestyle would kill him before he reached his twenty-fifth birthday. Tupac attended the Las Vegas, Nevada Mike Tyson and Bruce Seldon boxing match on September 7th, 1996 with Marion "Suge" Knight, the CEO of Tupac's recording studio. The pair were accompanied by unarmed bodyguards as they headed to Suge's nearby nightclub in his black BMW after the match that night. While on the drive to the club, a white Cadillac pulled up alongside Knight's BMW and shot Tupac Shakur. Suge Knight drove for help at a nearby casino as Tupac remained bloodied and injured next to him. Shakur died six days later from five gunshot wounds to the chest. Despite thousands of witnesses, only ONE individual came forward: Yafeu Fula, one of Tupac's back-up singers. Fula initially stated that he knew the identify the gunman, but police sent him home after they interviewed him for a short time. Two months later, Fula was shot to death in a stairwell of a housing project. Many believed this was an effort to silence him forever. Tupac Shakur's killer is still unknown. Suspects: Three hours before the shooting, a camera at the MGM Grand caught Tupac and his entourage beat up an alleged member of the South Side Crips street gang. Some believed the shooting was in retaliation for the attack. Others believed the shooting was connected to a heated rivalry between Tupac and East Coast rapper Sean "Puffy" Combs. As infamous as Tupac and Biggie Smalls' murders were, I realized we had never actually made threads about their cases on our forum. I remember on AMW and elsewhere a lot of speculation was centered around Orlando Anderson, one of the Crips gang members seem fighting with Shakur's entourage that night. (Anderson was later killed himself in a drive-by shooting.) But I haven't heard much about him since the first few years after Shakur's murder. Also as seen above his case has aired on both Unsolved Mysteries and America's Most Wanted. His case was first aired on AMW on their February 8th, 1997 episode. Ironically, AMW-aired fugitive Joanne Chesimard a.k.a. Assata Shakur is/was Tupac Shakur's aunt. The biggest factor is Suge Knight. He at least have an idea of who killed Shakur and I wouldn't be surprised if the drive-by that killed Anderson was under his orders. He's been reputed to have shady to criminal elements in his business life despite claiming not to be a gang member. But his recent stunt in claiming who were involved in Shakur's murder is extremely sketchy.

As of 2021, this past June 16 marked the date Tupac Shakur would've turned 50 and this coming September will unfortunately mark the 25th anniversary of his death. There have been numerous media, particularly documentaries dealing with his life and death as well as the people involved or responsible for it. Along with a ton of investigation done on this case, inadequate or not. So I wanted to showcase the documentary "Murder Rap: Inside the Biggie and Tupac Murders" based heavily on LAPD detective Greg Kading's work on the case and details how Orlando Anderson, the most popular suspect/person of interest, was the most likely killer. This theory is not perfect to be clear (some question Anderson's uncle and Sean Comb's involvement) and since Anderson himself is dead we can never be completely sure. But I find it to be the most logical and evidenced based out of all the theories that has been put up.
I would like to comment on Suge's theory that his ex bodyguard and ex wife were behind it, as in targeting Suge to take over Death Row but the bullets got to 2pac. I'm not intimate on the internal happenings of Death Row nor the intentions of his ex bodyguard and ex wife. But since Suge basically gave his ex wife influence in the company early on, gave his ex bodyguard brief control of the company in the late 1990s, the shooter seem to focus more on Tupac than Suge, and only bringing this up when he was being tried for a manslaughter case, makes me seriously doubt his claim. I think he still believe Orlando Anderson is the one but blaming his ex bodyguard and ex wife to weasel himself out of jail with the possible added benefit of clearing him of Wallace's (Notorious BIG) and Anderson's death if theories of his involvement are true.

Duane Davis aka Keefe D is the Uncle of Orlando Anderson, whom many speculate is the main suspect who allegedly murdered Tupac Shakur, in the most logical sense. Davis is actually claimed to confirm this through Greg Kading's investigations and went so far as to claim it was part of a hit ordered by Sean "Puffy" Combs. The thing is, his admission was part of a sort of plea deal. So something must be going on for Las Vegas police to book him. |

They executed a search warrant on the home of Davis’ ex-wife in July. My guess is they found something during that search that convinced them they finally had enough evidence to charge Davis, considering the timing between the warrant and the eventual arrest.

Just that Orlando Anderson wanting to kill Tupac for the fight at the MGM presented an opportunity for Davis and he led the group to seek out and kill Tupac which included the shooter Anderson. |
