Was a good segment last night on Lindsay's case. JW and Cal interview Lindsay's parents, and then Cal goes off to investigate.
A few interesting things to make note of:
-Unsurpisingly, Solomon Barron is scrutinized once again. Even though AMW once mentioned Barron being ruled out, the ISP (Illinois State Police) investigator says no one has been ruled out. They mention Solomon has the alibi with plane tickets and receipts showing he was in New York at the time Lindsay went missing, but that he can't show anyone saw him and no one has vouched that they saw him. The show also mentions that in his 2010 promoting prostitution arrest, a witness testified that while driving through the desert, Solomon and her got into an argument where Solomon stated if she didn't start listening to him, she would wind up like his "main girl" who Lindsay was known to be.
-They mention the Neal Falls aspect and it is the ISP investigator's theory that a serial killer/transient type and possibly a trucker (this doesn't mean either of us will be right and what matters most is getting justice for Lindsay, but it seems he agrees with my theories), is likely involved in Lindsay's murder. However, there is no DNA to match Neal Falls, and only a circumstantial clue in that Falls was a security guard at a hotel Lindsay frequented.
It was interesting but I still don't think it was Barron (who I personally think is a scumbag) for a few reasons:
1. In my opinion, he was physically abusive to Lindsay. They mention Lindsay coming back to upstate NY and showing bruises. However, if he were to deliberately purchase plane tickets as a false alibi, that to me would indicate a planned murder, while in my opinion, if he were Lindsay's killer, it would more likely be unplanned and in a fit of rage. It could be coincidence he had those plane tickets/plans already and they unfortunately proved an accidental convenient alibi, but while not an idiot, he doesn't seem *that* smart to me to plan that far ahead if that was his goal.
2. There is no indication Barron had any ties to Illinois and it is a long way from Las Vegas. A trucker who is used to traveling those distances would make more sense.
In my opinion, if Barron is any way responsible, the only way I see him involved is if he hired someone to kill Lindsay.
At the end of the day, if one day they arrest Barron, I'll admit I was wrong and will be thrilled Lindsay's case was solved. If one day they name Neal Falls her killer and/or a different serial killer, I would also be thrilled and wouldn't gloat that I was right. I've been right before, I've been wrong before. But I care a lot more about Lindsay's case being solved than whether I'm right or not. I understand I couldn't possibly care as much as John and Cal (and obviously Lindsay's parents) do, but I do have an amount of emotion for cases like Lindsay's because too often girls like her are judged for their life choices, when at the day, NOTHING justifies their murder.
If Lindsay's killer is still alive, they need to pay. If they are deceased, I hope Lindsay's parents can find out to at least no longer have the pain of not knowing- even though there never really is such a thing as closure.
