I'm really surprised I've never commented on Corona before this point. I think all of us have unfortunately overlooked him, even though he's wanted for possibly the most horrific crime in AMW history. Corona's case is one of a very, very few that I don't mind taking up multiple segments of the show, since there's really so much to talk about here. Corona's daughter told AMW that she believes her father's family is protecting him, and that's something that seems likely. She said that her father's family never liked her mother. On the other hand, and I don't like speculating this because I worry it'll make people less likely to look for him, but part of me wonders if he killed himself. AMW's reenactment portrayed him as incredibly paranoid and emotional. I could definitely see him realizing - perhaps after getting drunk - the horror of what he'd done and then deciding to off himself. At the same time, though, we know AMW sometimes took liberties with its reenactments, and nobody was present when he committed the murder, so how do we know if he was sniffling and crying as he prepared the chainsaws for the horror he was about to commit?
Excellent points. Even though it shouldn't matter and I always stress we need to care about all cases not just ones on "top lists", besides being named John Walsh's #1 Most Wanted of 2010, Corona was never added to the U.S. Marshals or FBI lists so it's easy to not be reminded of the case as often. Also, surprisingly, The Hunt never profiled him and so far In Pursuit hasn't either, which would have further put the case in our mind again had they done so.

I couldn't find a UFAP warrant in Pacer search for Corona, although that doesn't mean he doesn't have one.

You know, the trend with the FBI is that they seem to be adding fugitives to the list who are wanted for domestic violence homicides or the murder of a family member (half of the fugitives on the list committed crimes falling into this category). Corona’s alleged actions make him topical for the list. I believe Scumhunter did a great job trying to find a UFAP warrant (and he is correct that it doesn’t mean it’s not there), and if there isn’t a UFAP warrant, I would be very surprised, as there is ample evidence he fled to Mexico.
It still makes me shiver that the coroner determined the victim was alive when decapitated. If beheading a person alive doesn’t warrant inclusion into the list, I’m hard pressed to think of what does.

I know I've said it before but I still believe it is the most brutal murder in AMW history or at least during the years I watched the show. Which is why I'm so shocked the publicity seems to have softened and this case seems to have been somewhat forgotten in the past few years.

The thing is, he likely will not receive the death penalty if he fled to Mexico, but had he been arrested in the United States, it would be a different story based on how brutal the crime was. I agree with you, too, that it is frightening how press coverage has dissipated on this case.

I'm normally opposed to the death penalty with some exceptions where the crime is so heinous its the only appropriate punishment. This definitely falls into that category.
However I'm perfectly fine with Corona getting life in prison if it is the only way to extradite him.

The reason I view domestic violence homicide suspects as being so dangerous is because if you are alleged to have killed a family member, who aren’t you capable of killing?

Oh yeah I agree if you can kill someone you supposedly *love* or a family member, why wouldn't you kill a stranger?
