From the Orange County Register:
After the shooting and killing of a man inside a car in Stanton on June 4, 2010, authorities say, Jorge Rafael Huante fled toward Mexico.
The 20-year-old victim, Harvey Romero, was hospitalized but pronounced dead a short time later, officials said.
Investigators with the Orange County Sheriff's Department said it's not clear what prompted the shooting. The victim was in a car with several friends when they began to talk with six to eight men on the street.
One of the men fired two or three shots into the car.
Huante, who now would be 21, is believed to have information about the shooting and is wanted by investigators. He is believed to have fled to Mexico or near the border.
He is the latest to be added to The Orange County Register's list of wanted suspects.

Thoughts? A side note that as of this posting Huante would be 26 years old. It should be noted Harvey Romero was leaving a graduation party and driving around looking for a friend the day he was shot and killed. A few other facts recently came to light: one of the co-defendants in this case had their conviction overturned but the others charged didn't, and Jorge Huante is believed to be the main shooter. A new reports suggest the shooting may have been some sort of "hit up." (although Valdez, the one whose conviction was overturned had questionable witness testimony that he was in front of the SUV during the hit up, and that is apparently why it was overturned)
