A new interview with Crystal Arrona's daughter is in the link below. Actually this article says the new information was developed after The Hunt. It's hard to say because The Hunt is no longer on the air to take credit (although thankfully replaced with a new show), but it seems they may have taken credit had they been. Of course the most important part of the story is Crystal's daughter may soon finally receive justice. www.azfamily.com/story/39005577/phoenix-teen-talks-about-manhunt-arrest-of-mothers-accused-killer

Found out some pretty upsetting news. Judge Jennifer Ryan-Touhill declared a mistrial after concerns a witness saw critical evidence on a prosecutor's laptop. This was despite neither side asking for a mistrial. After the mistrial, it was determined double-jeopardy came into play, which means Jardines cannot be retried. As a result, Jardines had to be released. Prosecutors could ask the Arizona Supreme Court to review the case, but the Maricopa County Attorney's Office released a statement released a statement that they wouldn't pursue that since they didn't think they would prevail. So despite the great effort by The Hunt, its' viewers and the U.S. Marshals, a judge's stupid mistake means justice won't prevail. I can only hope karma comes one day for Jardines. www.azfamily.com/news/phoenix-murder-suspect-released-after-mistrial/article_fb58289a-f006-11eb-bf78-ebb0bfd0e8e3.html

Also want to state that Crystal's cousin is pursuing civil action options against Jardines, and wants to advocate to make aware of court proceedings that could rob families of justice.
Speaking of which, I want to also reiterate, Jardine wasn't found not guilty. A judge declared a mistrial apparently unaware it would cause double Jeopardy. The article states she likely would have made a different decision if she had realized that.
This isn't a case where I'm going to respect the "innocent until proven guilty" process. As far as I'm concerned, Jardines is still a scumbag murderer who got away on a technicality. And I hope whatever happens in civil or criminal proceedings, every single day for the rest of his life he knows he's a scumbag murderer.
