I just realized in all my excitement I missed HeadMarshal's post mentioning the CNN article as well. Not only is he direct capture #4 but since Genevieve Kelley turned herself in New Hampshire even though she technically hid in Costa Rica, and Victor Barnard in my opinion was a result of being on the USMS Top 15 list, I also consider Paul Jackson The Hunt's first international direct capture. That Mexico is the first country for The Hunt's first technical international capture isn't much of a surprise, although one would have thought it would have been Tomas Gonzalez or Herbert Maldonado or another fugitive actually linked to Mexico for their first capture from the country.

Another thing I realized- since John List was caught after 19 years, and the AMW record holder was Bruno Salgado after 28 years, this means at 24 years, Jackson has to at least be in the top five if not higher for longest-running fugitives ever caught by either AMW and/or The Hunt!

Ok- now that we've had some time to celebrate- three things need to be done here, if authorities have better luck getting Jackson to talk than they did with Vance Roberts:
1- Like 912th said, identify who the girls in those photos were. Since Roberts and Jackson are now caught, I really don't see why those photos haven't been released to the general public yet. THE PUBLIC CAN HELP IDENTIFY THE GIRLS.
2- Look into unsolved missing and murdered women who were thought be prostitutes in the Northwest area for the past 25 years.
3- Since Jackson spent his final years on the run in Mexico, find out if he was possibly involved in sex/human trafficking.

Wow! This is amazing! Jackson clearly gained weight over the years, but I can still tell it's him. I can't believe that he was profiled so many times on AMW and it took a cable TV show to find him

I believe it's because that cable show was able to spend an entire hour on Jackson as opposed to AMW with roughly 10 minutes. While I wish there would be a 15-seconds of shame at least, expanding the case to a half-hour or an hour makes it more likely for that one fugitive in particular to be captured.

Paul Jackson plead guilty today and is expected to face 18 years in prison when he's formally sentenced on Tuesday. I admit I'm a bit disappointed since I feel he should never see the light of day again just like his brother. However, his two known victims seem to be happy with the deal and if they're happy with that sentence and not having to re-live the pain through yet another trial, then I'm somewhat satisfied I guess. www.oregonlive.com/hillsboro/index.ssf/2016/05/kidnap_rape_suspect_paul_jacks.html

If AMW and The Hunt are to be believed, it seems like Roberts was the mastermind and Jackson just kind of went along with him. I know one of the victims told AMW that Jackson followed Roberts around "like a puppy." AMW also portrayed him as being more nervous than Roberts. If that is indeed true, then it's not really a surprise that Roberts got a harsher sentence.

Oh yeah I definitely agree Roberts was the mastermind of the whole operation and basically told Jackson what to do. I had also assumed this is why some relative leniency seems to have been given here. But Jackson never had to oblige and listen to his brother.
This is why I wanted him to never see the light of day again. He was still a participant.
However if it spares Michelle and Andrea the pain of another trial that they don't want then they're the ones who actually went threw the ordeal and I have to respect their wishes.
I read another article that says he will serve at least 18 years so maybe that's just the minimum he can serve. I guess we'll find out next week.

I would have liked more time as well but from the sounds of it his victims just wanted to move on with their lives and I don't blame them. 18 years is still a long time for someone his age and who knows if he'll survive that long?

Yeah I do take solace in that he's not getting away scott free. 18 years is still a harsh punishment (if it is 18 years, we know that's the minimum he can serve). In addition yeah who knows if he'll survive that long. I know people will assume I might mean violence but in reality at his age he could just get randomly sick in the less than ideal prison conditions.
What I found crazy is one article says he had a wife and two children in Mexico. He was also going by the name Pablo Bennet. (He was white but I guess he had an olive enough complexion to have a Spanish name)

A very interesting article about Jackson's life on the run. Most of this from an interview with Hillsboro, Oregon police Sergeant Bruce Parks: -In the summer of 1991, Jackson got on a bus from Portland heading South to California, making his way to Tijuana before finally winding up in Guadalajara. -The Hunt tip was the first time authorities had ever heard of Jackson possibly being in Guadalajara. There were previous many tips placing him in Arizona as we may remember from the AMW airings. -After receiving specific information that Jackson was living in Guadalajara the marshals got a court order for a copy of Jackson's birth certificate from Hawaii to prove to Mexican immigration authorities that he was U.S. citizen. -They also received a search warrant for information from the Facebook page of Jackson's father, who had been visiting his son and grandchildren in Mexico.. Photographs posted on the page showed Jackson's father with his grandchildren. -Jackson told police he'd give them more information, Parks said, but he wanted to talk with his attorney first. Their conversation, which spanned more than 90 minutes, wasn't recorded, Parks said, because it was mostly small talk. He said Jackson hasn't contacted police to share more details since he was arrested. -During their conversation at the jail, Parks said, Jackson told police that his brother had forced him to participate in the abductions and threatened to kill him if he didn't. Roberts had pushed him to leave town because authorities were trying to get Jackson to testify against his brother, he said. He told police he only was involved in the two cases, Parks said. -For a time, he rented a room from two older women and learned Spanish. He worked odd jobs and taught English to children, he told police. He eventually married and had two daughters, who were 13 and 9 years old at the time of his arrest, Parks said. His wife and kids didn't know his true identity, he told police, or what he had done. -He was a mid-level salesperson with Motorola, he told police, and his father also worked for the company, according to Parks. Jackson was careful to never travel into the U.S., Parks said, and would avoid his Mexican family's desire to join friends on American vacations by saying he had to work. Police haven't talked to his wife or children, Parks said. www.oregonlive.com/hillsboro/index.ssf/2016/05/fugitive_torture_suspectmarrie.html

So there it is. I somewhat believe Jackson that his brother may have forced him to participate especially based on the AMW re-enactment, although I have my doubts when it comes to his claims that he only participated in the two known cases. (Why would his brother only force him to participate in two cases when there's Polaroids of dozens more women).
I still maintain if a family member says to me "hey, I'm going to go rape and torture some prostitutes, and I'm going to kill you if you go to the police", I'm still going to the police. I wouldn't be able to live with myself doing something like that and would rather be dead than in jail if caught anyway for that.
But yeah the 18-years he's expected to get is still a long sentence.
