Literally just now noticing she is off the FBI website.. What the heck... Could we at least get a reason before they do this stuff The FBI may not be actively investigating this case anymore. This would likely be because of the age of the case, a lack of leads or that Hazel Head would be over 70 by now.

A few more things to add:
1. The FBI has really only explained when they remove someone from the top ten list. I don't recall them ever explaining why someone on the general site was removed without capture.
2. The case is now over 25 years old. I'm disappointed they removed her but certainly not shocked.

Hazel Head is one of those fugitives who always baffled me as to how she stayed one step ahead of the law. I get that she was most likely hitching rides with truckers and staying ahead of the law that way, but it's still frustrating. From what I could tell, AMW got a bunch of good tips on her in 1999 when they first aired her, but those seemed to dwindle over the years.
Prior to AMW ending in 2012, she actually hadn't been profiled since early 2007 - and unlike her previous airings, this was actually a full profile (most of her profiles had been APB length). I always suspected they were giving her one final profile before moving on to other cases. It's kind of telling that they never profiled her in 2008, even though a ton of old cases were being profiled that year.

Yeah, I agree.... I feel like awareness is key in finding these people and the sad truth is for most, if you're not logging on to the FBI website like the majority of us you aren't gonna know.... Would like to form groups and research cases to help assist the authorities before they have so many cases it becomes an impossibility for them to show each one sufficient time.
