Edwards, Jose A. Sinnott, Jose Sinnott, Jose S. Sinnott, Joseph A. Sinnott, Joseph S. Sinnott, Jose S. Sinott, Joseph A. Wickham, Joseph S. Wickham Date of Birth: May 20th, 1964 Place of Birth: Chicago, Illinois Height: 5'10 Weight: 165 lbs Build:Medium Hair: Brown Eyes: Blue Complexion: Dark Race: White Nationality: American Remarks: Edwards is described as intelligent, competitive, aggressive, and having artistic talents. He enjoys and participates in wrestling, swimming, and scuba diving. Scars and Marks: Possible small cross on left and right hands between thumb and index finger. Needle marks on left and right arms. Social Security Number Used: 335-64-5420 Who to call if you've seen: Nearest FBI field office or embassy or submit a web tip at tips.fbi.govJoseph Sinnott is one of the earliest aired fugitives in AMW's history to still not be found. He debuted on AMW in 1988. Sinnott was indicted by a grand jury on the murder charges of his adoptive parents, Robert and Marcia Edwards in 1983. He fled and in 1984, a federal warrant was issues. He would be 46 years old. Interestingly enough, authorities are now turning up the heat on this very cold case. A sheriff working on the case is asking for $20,000 to work with the Northeastern Illinois Regional Crime Lab in Vernon Hills, a lab that previously performed tests on evidence in the case. He hopes the new DNA may help lead to Edwards. www.pantagraph.com/news/local/crime-and-courts/livingston-county-hopes-dna-testing-will-help-close-murder-case/article_b0404e80-5b83-11e2-98c0-001a4bcf887a.htmlUPDATE: Although no new articles could be found about the hunt for Edwards since 2013, considering how high-profile a case this is, I feel it is reasonably safe to assume that Edwards is still at large as of this update (7/26/2018). Of course, if anyone has any updates/proof-of-updates in the future, they are always more than welcome to let us know. I just realized that I had never replied to this thread. Btw he went on the run in 1983, 1984 was when a federal UFAP warrant was issued.
Anyway, I imagine he got rid of the long hairstyle and probably adopted an alias for himself to avoid authorities. If fingerprints were never available, he could be in prison under a different name and not be identified until a DNA match can be made.

Those are good theories and this thread was obviously made before our posting photo and years tradition so that's fixed up. I also believe his re-enactment is on YouTube so if anyone has a link to it, it would be much appreciated!

Talked to someone about this case in the blog Bonnie's Blog of Crime and emailed her. As Derek hit it on the head. As well as Bonnie said that he could also be dead due to living such a life of drugs and sex. But body has not been recovered it seems or no body found.

If his remains were discovered at some point, then there would be nothing besides the DNA sample to link those remains to Edwards. Something I want to know is has the DNA been entered into the CODIS database or are we still waiting for authorities to do that? EDIT: Welcome to the forums jppt1974!

Maybe authorities are waiting for everything to come on back. As you know how coy they can be. Hopefully we will find something asap. The Edwards deserve justice after thirty years! Remember this case on AMW back in 1988. Can't believe they have not found the you know what. Either he is dead or good at hiding. He could be married with kids and not make a mention of his past! Who knows? Anyway thanks for the welcome Derek! Wished that the show was not cancelled. Darn Lifetime!

I'd like to say welcome to the forum as well jppt! Also, I looked and finally found the youtube clip which shows most of Edwards' re-enactment from AMW in 88. I just happened to noticed you posted on there so obviously you've seen this, LOL. But for anyone else interested, this is the clip.
Also, off-topic but all hope is not lost with AMW and in the Lifetime cancels AMW thread in the main forum there is a link to an interview with AMW's executive-in-charge who mentions they are still trying to get AMW back on the air. But I agree, screw Lifetime!

Thanks Scumhunter appreciate it. Also read that Robert Edwards was suppose to be a special forces soldier in Vietnam. Which is weird as you would think that a soldier that was in the Green Berets would take care of someone that is violent. Find that shocking!

That would match the AMW reenactment of the case, which showed another man with Edwards during the crime.

The person that was with Joe probably if he is alive, wants to remain unknown and probably either does not have a conscience in knowing he was with Joe at the time of the murders. Or that he just is afraid to come out and be charged thirty-one years later.
Also on Joe, the tip in 1998 is that how an artist and computer sketch of if he was that age, which would had been thirty-four at the time. Keep in mind that in the 1980's there was nothing at all like internet and computers. Or tech savvy stuff. As that it is the reason that it has taken up thirty-one years to solve this case. Due to the lack of computers and internet.
Know that Marcia Edwards, the mother's sister is still alive. As her sister wanted the state of IL to go ahead with the $23,000 as wonder why it is taken so long. As it has been over a year since we heard something about this case. But guess the authorities are trying to make sure and gather evidence.
But still, they may just want to try to take their time and get their man! If he is either alive and is on the run, or in prison under a new name.
BTW, sorry for the delay, but thanks very much for the warm welcome! Appreciate it.

I do have an interest to this case. But I sometimes wonder the reason why Edwards after cutting contact with his adoptive parents decided to kill them. I'm guessing that since he made no contact with family made it easier for him to disappear after the murders. A commenter on the YouTube video questioned why would the father as a ex green beret didn't fight Joe off. I place that as old age and that Joe had a gun.

Well he would only be 46, so i am thinking that it's more likely that he's alive than he's not. Unless he is/was in REALLY bad health. Even though this is a cold case, i still believe that he is catchable. At least he isn't turning 80 anytime in the near future.

Something I just noticed, the FBI poster mentions that Joseph had needle marks on both of his arms which would probably mean that he was a drug addict (likely heroin). If he continued his addiction during his life as a fugitive, he could have eventually overdosed to death or had other health-related complications.
