(Pictured: Above: Left: Simon Montalvo (Victim) Right: Maria Montalvo (Suspect) Photo Credit: crimeblog.dallasnews.com) From crimeblog.dallasnews.com: Surveillance video released by DeSoto police to KDFW-TV (Fox 4) appears to link a woman to the killing of her husband nearly three years ago. Police initially treated the disappearance of Simon Montalvo, his wife and two sons as a missing persons case in April 2013. But after Simon Montalvo’s brothers found him buried amid rocks in his own backyard two weeks later, it was clear to police that he had been killed. The 43-year-old was shot six times. The children turned up in Indiana, with Maria Montalvo’s relatives. She remains on the run, and may be in Mexico, police told Fox 4 recently. Police suspect Maria Montalvo fatally shot her husband one night in 2013, while their two children were sleeping in the couple’s home. One of their sons told detectives he heard Mom and Dad arguing before going to bed. He woke up to three loud “claps” during the night, but his mom told him later that a cabinet had turned over,” according to court records obtained by Fox 4. “He didn’t believe her,” the court records state. Police later found surveillance video showing Maria Montalvo drag something wrapped in trash bags and a sheet out of her SUV. Police say she spent the rest of the night cleaning the house. The next morning, she took the children to school and returned home with large rocks that police say she used to cover her husband’s body. “We were floored watching this video,” Will McGraw, a DeSoto police detective, told Fox 4. “Some of those officers, and even I think the family members, were in disbelief that Maria would do this.” Other Relevant Links: focusdailynews.com/wife-prime-suspect-in-desoto-murder-p9978-1.htmwww.fox4news.com/news/79482462-storywww.hlntv.com/shows/nancy-grace/articles/2016/01/26/maria-montalvo-drags-husband-s-dead-body-in-video-cops-saycrimeblog.dallasnews.com/2016/01/fox-4-video-appears-to-show-desoto-woman-bury-husband-in-backyard-in-2013.html/ Admin Note #1: According to articles, anyone with information is asked to call the DeSoto (Texas) tipline at 972-223-6111.

Thoughts? This Maria Montalvo is obviously one sick alleged individual (in this case, even though we technically have to say alleged, in my opinion it's rather obvious she did it and was basically caught disposing of Simon Montalvo's body). Here's a woman who while her children are in the house, shoots their father six times, and then puts him in a trash bag and discards him like he was nothing more than garbage. She doesn't put her young children in day care or leave then with a babysitter while killing her husband. Nope, she murders him with them in the house and then drops them off with relatives AFTER the fact. To say she's depraved is putting it mildly. Montalvo dropped her children off in Indiana, so I guess it's possible she's still in the U.S. But whether she's here, fled to Mexico, or elsewhere, she needs to be taken into custody immediately.

Completely in agreement with you and the detectives that Maria Montalvo is a very deranged fugitive murder suspect. Now in regards to Maria's children turning up in Indiana with relatives, did the relatives live in Indiana or live in Texas and take the children up to Indiana. The article wasn't clear on that.

According to the Dallas County criminal record search, the homicide charge listed for "Maria Montalvo" is being shown as "C" which is classified as "cancelled". I couldn't find any information online explaining why, perhaps the warrant was just put as inactive as we've seen in other cases unless new leads come up. If anyone has additional information on this, then please contact our website contact form. www.dallascounty.org/criminalBackgroundSearch/captcha.do;jsessionid=3D22AACA6F6C08DDFA9559E17025C4B0.c1app3Admin Note: This latest update was posted/accurate on September 13th, 2017.

Realized one of our above links is HLN/Nancy Grace. Whether we like her or not, that still technically counts as TV coverage so I am moving this thread to the Fugitives on TV section.
