(Above photo credit: weheartwv.com via findagrave.com) From West Virginia State Police website: On November 18, 1980, Clarence "moses" Riffle, a 76 year old retired coal miner, was murdered at his residence near Jimtown, WV. Mr. Riffle was shot to death at his residence. The perpetrator(s) removed money from the residence as well as a .410 gauge Westernfield bolt action shotgun. This weapon had the victim's name, written on a piece of paper, and was hidden under the buttplate of the weapon. This case has no current leads and the Elkins Detachment of the West Virginia State Police is seeking information. Anyone having information concerning this crime is urged to contact the Elkins Detachment of the West Virginia State Police at (304)637-0200.Thoughts?
