I think the focus may be more on domestic terror after the events of January 6th.

I think the focus may be more on domestic terror after the events of January 6th. Could it be individuals specifically tied to January or could the FBI add militia nut individuals to the likes of Timothy Coombs?

I think more the former but you never know. But I wouldn't be surprised if the next addition turns out to not be someone on the FBI site but some type of anti government extremist they're worried about even if none of us had previously heard of them (I want to stress I don't know if they're tracking any, just it wouldn't surprise me if there's guys out there that they are).

I’m thinking it’s gotta be someone involved with a militia in Michigan or Montana, but if it’s not the case, then I think adding Timothy Coombs wouldn’t be a bad idea considering it’s been several years since the FBI issued a $100,000 reward and perhaps a media blitz with a hefty price tag is what that case needs, but I agree it’s likely a non site fugitive that could make the list.

What's been THE LONGEST ever that THE INFAMOUS TOP 10 List has gone with one or more slots not being filled? I wonder as to why it's taking so long to find a NEW worst of the worst to add.

I want to say November of '009 through March of '012. The list stagnated completely through all of '010, and even after 2 of them got captured in the spring of '011, the FBI waited until the next spring to replace them.

We've already discussed the probable reasons for delay in previous replies. But once again:
-New Presidential administration
-New Attorney General, who is the FBI Director's boss, hasn't been sworn in yet.
And as 912th said it took nearly a year to replace Bin Laden/Whitey Bulger on the list.
I'd practice patience and only if it's like June and they still haven't added anyway then I'd be upset.

There’s something very telling about which FBI 10 Most Wanted cases are the focus on Crime Shows since 2013 after old AMW was cancelled.
Robert Fisher got a segment in 2016 on The Hunt
Alexis Flores hasn’t gotten a segment done on him since AMW
Jason Brown though not having had a segment done on him by a John Walsh show in recent years has been the subject on Dateline in 2013 and American Greed in 2016
Bhadreshkumar Patel had a segment on him, 7 months after his addition in 2017 on The Hunt
Alejandro Castillo and Arnoldo Jimenez both had segments done on them in 2020 on In Pursuit.
Obviously with Narcos: Mexico, Rafael Caro-Quintero was the subject of in 2018/2019 after his FBI Top Ten addition.
Jose Rodolfo Villarreal-Hernandez has yet to be the subject of a crime show, though I think it’s more easier he’d be aired on new AMW, I don’t know how his case would fit for the format of In Pursuit.
One fugitive who I’m surprised has gotten a lot of attention in the last 5 years is Eugene Palmer, he had a segment done on him in 2016 on The Hunt, was added to the Top Ten List in 2019, had a segment on him in 2020 on In Pursuit, and is now going to be profiled on the series premier of new AMW.
Perhaps other Top Ten fugitives will get an airing over the course of the next few months on AMW so we’ll wait and see.

So is it that the FBI has to run all Top 10 Nominations/choices with the attorney General before one is added to the TOP 10? and is it the same when the FBI decides that a TOP 10er who's old and a 'ghost' basically wants to drop they have to run it by the A.G. too as well?

No but the AG sort of sets the policy as to what types of crimes he wants the FBI director to investigate and/or what he wants them to focus on and/or oversees their investigations, so in an indirect way he influences the list.

Just wanted to say that after 7 months since Yaser Said was captured, they may be looking for a cold case fugitive (not that cold like the 1980s rather a 1990s or 2000s case), regardless if they are on the FBI website or not.
While Pedro Sanchez-Laporte is the favorite to be added and is likely somewhere in the eastern United States or Puerto Rico, shouldn’t be that difficult to catch him, however I think someone like Gregory Whitehead is in his prime to be added, mainly because the victims were children and the list hasn’t added a fugitive where the victim is younger than 17 since Luis Macedo in 2016 and Yaser Said is accused of murdering his 2 daughters as we all know, and I feel it’s only appropriate to replace him with someone who victimized a child whether it’s a sex crime or murder.
I would say Bruce Sawhill, but I’m not sure how the victim’s family in the Sawhill case would feel about his Top Ten addition and having to open up that wound again, so I chose Gregory Whitehead.

Hurry up FBI just make a new addition already it’s been 8 months since Yaser Said has been captured and no replacement for him yet.
I understand it may take almost a year to replace him hence why it’s taking so long, unless sadly someone currently on the list is going to be removed to make room for someone recent and dangerous, along with Yaser’s replacement.

Remember the last time it took this long was when they were replacing Osama Bin Laden and Whitey Bulger.
So I have a theory- Yaser Said is probably the biggest capture since them. So you don't want to replace him too quickly because for publicity reasons you still want to brag the same way you did about Osama and Whitey.
I have a new theory that the bigger the capture the longer it will take to replace them.
It would be nice to get some heat on a new guy but it does feel good every time I look at the list to see captured over Yaser's face.
In no way saying the case isn't horrible but if someone like Arnoldo Jimenez, who hasn't had much national publicity outside of AMW and In Pursuit were caught last August they probably would have replaced him by now since it would have still been an amazing capture but not as "big." (I hate putting it in those terms because every capture is a great capture just as far as the media publicity it would have had).

I actually had a feeling this was the possibility, that they are taking awhile to replace Yaser Said as he carries a lot of notoriety. Also whoever the FBI is planning to add will likely be another publicity heavy weight as well.
