Just wanted to say that we all thought the FBI would’ve made an addition this month and right now, they have Tomorrow, Wednesday, and next Monday left to make an addition in November.
If a Top Ten addition isn’t made in those next 3 days, more likely we’ll see the Yaser’s replacement in December. I also wanted to bring up the FBI as a whole, especially since Scumhunter brought this up recently, Personally I liked how Chris Wray has run the FBI the last 3 years and I would love it if the Biden Administration coming in January keeps him in his position, also he’s done a great job being apolitical.
In a way I kinda hope the FBI could announce Yaser Said’s replacement quickly as things in D.C. change day to day and Chris Wray having his position in January isn’t guaranteed especially with “the apprentice White House edition”. We all saw what happened in 2013-2014 and 2017, it takes awhile before a fugitive is added to the Top Ten List.
I really hope all this waiting for Yaser Said’s replacement on the Ten Most Wanted, regardless of who it is, it was worth the wait.

We probably won't get an FBI top 10 addition this week since the U.S. Marshals just added John Panaligan to their Top 15 list today and usually both major lists don't coincide with each other as far as additions on the same week. (not to mention this is a shortened week with Thanksgiving coming up). And yeah not accusing you of parroting me but you said what I said in the Featured fugitives thread about Chris Wray. And yeah don't get me wrong, technically the President can fire the FBI director for any reason or no reason at all, but Trump would be doing it for revenge, so let's hope Wray stays (rhyme not intended). While perhaps I may have some disagreements on like feeling domestic violence/homicide fugitives not being highlighted enough lately, I still think he's done a good job and most importantly he's well-liked and respected by those who work for him. I should also reiterate though the FBI director isn't who chooses the top ten list, but it's a media panel. The only thing he could do in theory is tell them "I don't like this one, pick someone else" but I doubt that would happen, and while we can't know, I doubt it's ever happened. It's the overall fugitives that Wray would probably have more influence on setting the overall tone on policy and priorities as opposed to the top ten list- but in a roundabout and indirect way- that does affect the top ten list after all, and I'll stop now lol.

The rumor now is Biden intends to keep Christopher Wray as FBI director so this is good news assuming Trump doesn't fire him. (Although in theory Biden could always hire him back).
Wray doesn't exactly decide the top ten list but he oversees the agency that does so this still relates in a roundabout way.

About the where these fugitives are they are probably in a country where extradition is difficult. For example the fbi should look at cuba which has many fugitives.

I’m actually pretty surprised December 15th and 17th have come and gone without a Top Ten Addition. Usually during these dates a new fugitive is named especially having an open slot.
I know in a COVID world to limit exposure to others, the candidates process would have to wait, and that is understandable and the selection could take up to a year.
Personally If the FBI is going to add anyone this month or in January which is unheard of in recent years, it’ll be Clarence Hebron (perhaps they are just waiting for a federal arrest warrant to be issued).
Also they could be doing what they did in 2016, and keeping a slot open, while at the same time being onto another Top Tenner currently at large, in order to have 2 open slots especially with the recent lack of captures from March 2019 - June 2020.

I think they might be waiting for the new presidency as well. I keep saying I'm relieved Trump is no longer president so I can go back to being politically neutral on this site and then keep mentioning it but seeing as Barr has resigned as AG they might not want or be able to add anyone until they have a new boss over seeing the justice department confirmed by the senate.

Since we’ve brought up the Top Ten List on Clarence Hebron’s thread, I really hope the fbi adds him tomorrow or Tuesday and capture him quickly or hopefully he goes down in the next couple of days without the list.
Say authorities get Hebron regardless of whether or not he gets added, and excluding recent cases for the moment, I have a couple of cold case fugitives I think the FBI could catch quickly.
1. Thayne Smika 2. Hung Tiem Pham 3. Alvin Scott 4. Warren Stern 5. Joseph Edward Arvizu 6. Andre Fleurentin
Any thoughts?

Here’s how I see it, to replace someone as high profile as Yaser Said, your gonna have to replace him with another challenging yet infamous case, however one that hasn’t gotten as much attention in recent years like Hung Tiem Pham. He’s perfect for that reason and because there’s a total of 5 murdered victims. The FBI currently has no street gang members on their Top Ten List since Santiago Mederos was replaced (not counting cartel Members El Gato and Caro-Quintero), having Pham is what the list needs on its roster, as they’ve had gang member fugitives on the list nonstop since 2016 with Luis Macedo, Jesus Munguia, and Santiago Mederos. Also Asian gangs/organized crime would be a great change from the Hispanic dominated cartels and gangs.

I feel it's possible that they'll announce the next Ten Most Wanted fugitive right before the series premiere of the America's Most Wanted revival. If that's true, then that fugitive may in fact be the debut case.

If that's true, then that fugitive may in fact be the debut case. I think it’s pretty accurate as the FBI has made additions in March in the past. Also this show will be great and something to look forward to when In Pursuit is out of season.

Welp it’s finally March and spring is coming, which means the FBI will likely name its next Top Ten fugitive soon.
At the moment Yaser Said’s slot is open and while I currently hold Hung Tien Pham my contender, I acknowledge that there are other lesser known cases that deserve some added publicity, I also acknowledge that Clarence Hebron is a recent fugitive that is very deserving as well and logically he’d be the next addition if not captured soon.
However if for some reason they don’t consider the mentioned fugitives, here are other fugitives that could fill a void left by Yaser Said.
• Brady Joseph Vandemark - Wanted for Child Pornography related charges in Iowa in 2019
• Gregory Robert Whitehead - Wanted for molesting 2 young girls at his home in Colorado in 2008
• Trung Duc Lu - Wanted for murder of 2 brothers in Pennsylvania in 2014
• Bob Tang - Wanted for murdering and decapitating a man in California in 2017.
• Michael Pratt - Wanted for a sex trafficking scheme from 2012-2019.
• Thayne Smika - Wanted for the murder of a man in Colorado in 1983
Harold “Butch” Knight - Wanted for the murder of his wife in Michigan in 2015 (this would be the perfect case for both the USMS 15 and FBI Top Ten Lists to have simultaneously and a possible case on the first episode of new AMW).

I think once Merrick Garland gets confirmed as AG we should soon see a new top ten addition. But I'm pretty sure Butch Knight is a U.S. Marshals case only. Fugitives only get added to both lists in extremely rare circumstances and because they're breaking news cases like Bucky Phillips. A "regular" fugitive (not to say they aren't terrible just not breaking news) is usually only primarily handled by once agency even if both might work together sometimes.

I’m curious to know what kind of fugitive cases a Merrick Garland justice dept would plan on adding... and I hope it’s more centered towards obviously Murderers and child molestors.
