BTW, today is the one-year anniversary of Eugene Palmer's addition. The last to date.

I'm frustarted by the lack of captures too but I still think being patient- especially considering we're currently in a pandemic- is the best way to go. If the list goes two years without a capture, then I think it's time to start getting upset. And patience pays off with the capture of Mederos.

I think FBI is gonna to put one of the fugitives from in pursuit with John Walsh in FBI's Top Ten list next.

For the moment I’d rather celebrate Santiago Mederos capture in Mexico before talking about contenders.
Right now I see Bob Tang, Trung Duc Lu, or cold case fugitives as contenders right now.

As far as contenders at the moment for the Top Ten List, while Trung Duc Lu, is a great replacement for Santiago Mederos because they are both gang members, but as we’ve seen in the last few years (not including the example of the 2 current FBI Phoenix fugitives currently on the list), this would be an interesting dynamic to see 2 FBI Philadelphia fugitives on the Top Ten List and what it could mean.
• 2 (3 at one point in 2014 with Eric Frein) FBI Philadelphia fugitives from 2009-2015, Mogilevich was removed.
• 2 FBI Chicago fugitives from 2016 (Fidel Urbina & Luis Macedo), They had been onto Urbina when Macedo was added
• 2 FBI Baltimore fugitives from 2017-2018 (Brad Bishop & Bhadreshkumar Patel), Brad Bishop was sadly removed from the list little over a year after Patel was added.
If Trung Duc Lu is added to the Top Ten List, which is a possibility, I’m curious to know if they’re onto Flores, about to give up on Flores, or are onto Trung Duc Lu.
Anyways I personally am leaning more towards Bob Tang as a favorite for the Top Ten List.... that was a really horrific murder, by decapitating someone and the fact that he escaped overseas to Cambodia give us hope that with a $100,000 and a spot on the Top Ten List, Tips will be pouring in from Cambodia where they had just set up a hotline specifically for him.
Another guy would be Andre Fleurentin, he’s believed to be hiding out on the island of Hispaniola since 1992, and perhaps the Top Ten List and it’s heavy publicity can help flush him out.

I usually do five but my top four candidates right now that stand out to me as most likely are Lu, Tang, Jamaad Murphy, and I'll throw in Jamaine Harrington as well (I think we forgot about him since it's been a while but that was a very violent public murder at a hotel he committed and would replace Mederos as a west coast fugitive).
Fleurentin is an excellent choice for a wild card, but considering they had somewhat of a dry spell, the FBI may want to go for a more recent case than 1992, even though Mederos is sort of a cold case spot, but from 2010, not that cold.

I forgot to mention that there are also FBI Los Angeles fugitives that deserve to be on the list such as Andres Zambrano and Saul Aguilar are both wanted for pretty awful crimes.... but as Scott Gariolla from the FBI Los Angeles pointed out.... he created his little list of fugitives he wants to catch before his retirement are mostly U.S. born Hispanic fugitives because they’re deportable from Mexico if captured there. Aguilar even at 23 years on the run, he’s more catchable with a new publicity campaign the top ten list usually accompanies. As for the current Top Ten, with Mederos caught, I wonder who will be next to get captured (also surprising Castillo has managed to outlast Mederos). Also it’ll be awhile (likely September) till the 524th fugitive is named, and I’m not sure if COVID-19 will complicate the selection process. At the moment my favorite for the Top Ten List are Bob Tang and Trung Duc Lu, however if the lack of extradition treaties with Cambodia and Vietnam will cause a problem id say Andre Fluerentin would be a perfect fit.... despite being a cold case, he’d be flushed rather quickly out of the island of Hispaniola if added to the list.

Just for the heck of it, I'm going to predict a new top ten list addition this week or next week. Let's see if I'm right.

Well looks like I will probably be wrong as the FBI usually doesn't make top ten additions on Fridays but the Marshals added Jory Worthen to their 15 most wanted list this week so looks like my intuition was right just about the wrong list.

Even though it might be too recent a case, sort of feeling like Marcel Gordon is a very likely contender for the list if he isn't caught soon. Wanted for a D.C. neighborhood shooting in which 11-year-old Davon McNeal was struck and killed by a stray bullet. The FBI has added a lot of those cases to their site as there have unfortunately been a lot of similar cases in the past few months, and this is the only one with a known fugitive attached, so they may want to send a message about the senseless recent gun violence.

I think he would be a good candidate too, along with Brady Joseph Vandemark, who is wanted for several charges on child pornography. He was last seen in May of this year and perhaps adding him wouldn’t be a bad idea as he’s recent and he’d break the 7 years without a CAC fugitive.

Greg Carlson and Myloh Mason have been the only non-murder fugitives so far (although Mason was attempted murder) but it would be nice for some variety to get a different kind of fugitive on the list.

Changing my top ten contenders as I think the FBI may want to add someone who’s been on the run for a long time yet easier to capture unless any of the current 9 are possibly in a similar situation.
The 2 individuals I’ve pretty much narrowed it down to are Stanley Obas and Andre Fleurentin, as they are Haitian nationals and with the successes of catching Wesnel Issac and Jean Janvier on the Marshals List in Haiti.
Either Obas or Fleurentin would be good candidates as Haiti and even possibly the Dominican Republic can flush them out quickly with added exposure.

I still think they'll go for a recwnt or relatively recenf fugitive since besides Mederps there's been some stagnation in captures.
