I was literally just about to post this! This is insane that they have been found especially ALIVE after all these years later, I think this will definitely give hope to others who have someone missing.

I came upon this story after seeing the headline on Google News and I was like "this is Cleveland so perhaps Amanda and Gina?" So I was like OMG! 52-year old Ariel Castro has been arrested in connection with these cases so it will be interesting to see if he's involved in any other cases.

John Walsh has been making the rounds appearing on all news channels and morning shows. I am rather appalled however at the attitude of the 911 operator when Amanda Berry contacted her. She's clearly crying and desperate and she tells her "we will have someone there as soon as we get a car open" and then keeps telling her to talk to the police when they get there. She then says "I told you they were on the way" towards the end. What frigging attitude. I understand 911 operators get a lot of prank calls and are supposed to be calm and matter-of-fact but this one was clueless and rude. I should add that Amanda Berry being found alive disproves the claims of a psychic who appeared with Amanda's mother on the Montel Williams Show. The psychic said that Amanda was dead and her mother broke down in tears. Her mother 98% believed that and that's why I feel she died a year later from heart failure. Well, I personally have always found psychics are total bs and don't believe in them, but Sylvia Browne basically took advantage of Amanda's mother's desperation and who knows if she hadn't told her that. Ariel Castro has reached a plea deal to give him life without parole plus 1,000 years. I've stated before I'm for having the death penalty but mainly against using it except for some cases where it seemed the only appropriate punishment. Great point. I would still love to see the girls in court telling him exactly what they think of him- but at least they won't have to relive the moments in a trial.

So I'm sure we know this by now but Castro was finally sentenced today and Michelle Knight did read a victim impact statement. Castro of course showed himself to be the pig he is in his statements. Granted, nothing he said would have smoothed things over. But you'd think he'd apologize to his victims up front. Instead, it was all about poor him, and that he's "impulsive" until he finally offered some sort of phony apology. Yeah, impulsive is when you're at a convenience store and you buy a candy bar at the cash register. No normal human has an "impulse" to kidnap three innocent girls, hold them against their will, rape them, and force them to have miscarriages. He also claimed they had a happy life. I guess they should thank him. ::Rolls eyes:: I tend to try to hold my emotions in when it comes to fugitive cases since they haven't had their day in court yet (except with guys like Chuy Canales and Yaser Said, those are cases where there is no allegedly. Screw it, they did it and are scumbags). But with guys like this who have finally been sentenced, I have no problem saying how I feel. And I hope this sorry excuse for a human being, and I use the term human very loosely, has a very hard life in prison. Yeah he claimed the sex was consensual and that there was alot of "harmony" in that house during the kidnapping ordeal. Can we please hope that the rest of his natural life in prison will be very lonely and without any "harmony".
