(Pictured: Above: Leticia Smith- Fugitive- (Left) Isabell Smith- Missing (Right-Top), Right: Abigail Smith- Missing photo credit: vvng.com) VICTORVILLE-(VVNG.com): On May 14, 2015 the District Attorney’s Office filed murder charges against Leticia Smith, the woman suspected of shooting and murdering her husband in Victorville. According to records, the murder was committed on May 4th or May 5th 2015. On May 12th at approximately 8:00 p.m., the dead body of Antoine Smith was located in the bedroom of the home during a well-check conducted by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. The well-check was requested after Smith missed several days of work and had not been seen or heard from by friends of co-workers. On the following morning the street of the single family home, on the 13700 block of Brynwood Street were lined with Sheriff’s Investigator vehicles, the San Bernardino County Coroner Vehicle as well as several unmarked vehicles. Neighbors who openly spoke to Victor Valley News reporters, painted two very different stories about the family that lived inside the home that was the scene of a homicide investigation. Multiple neighbors spoke of abuse, but the instigator of the abuse was unclear to those neighbors. The wife, Leticia Smith, 33, was described by neighbors to be quiet and as someone who kept to herself. The couple’s two young daughters, ages 8 and 4 were described as good kids that at many time witnessed the aggressive behavior of their parents. One neighbor believed the wife was a victim of abuse, while another felt like Leticia one day would do something to hurt her husband. Through the investigation, it was quickly determined that Smith had been the victim of a Homicide with his wife, Leticia Smith being the suspect. An arrest warrant was issued for Leticia Smith shortly following the investigation. Leticia fled the residence with her two children and was believed to have left in her 2010 Silver 4-door Honda Accord with a license plate 7FBT742. San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Spokeswoman, Cindy Bachman said, “I have not received any new info on that case, so as far as I know the suspect remains outstanding.” Since Leticia Smith is a person who has escaped from a place or is in hiding, especially to avoid arrest or persecution she’s officially considered to be a fugitive. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Leticia Smith and her two children are urged to immediately call 911 or Sheriff’s Dispatch at (760) 956-5001. Anyone with information regarding this investigation is urged to contact Detective Tina Kirby or Sergeant Jason Radeleff of the Sheriff’s Homicide Detail at (909)387-3589. Thoughts? According to one site, an Amber alert was NOT issued for Isabel and Abigal because it was believed that Leticia would not hurt them. That might be true but I'm still not sure being on the run with a woman who's a murder suspect is entirely healthy for them. There have been lots of speculation from commenters that the husband may have been killed because he was abusive but the truth is unless we were inside that house, none of us can really say what happened. Leticia's entitled to be presumed innocent until proven guilty, but Antoine Smith should also be entitled to not be assumed to be a wife-beater, etc. until there's tangible evidence that's the case as well. I always say this site's number 1 goal is to protect women and children but the hypocrisy when it comes to female fugitives is mind-boggling. Every female who abducts her kids ALWAYS do it for good reason and now apparently every female who murders a guy, domestic issues or not, does it for good reason. *sigh* We all know if the roles were reversed, no one would be defending Antoine.
I admit on the run or not, Isabel and Abigail are in a terrible situation, but I think being back home and not on the run with a murder suspect is much better for their health. Leticia needs to do the right thing and turn herself in for at least her kids' sake if she cares about them.

I really have to question the decision of not issuing an Amber Alert for Leticia's daughters. On the chance that she was a domestic abuse victim, what if she is saddened with guilt of becoming a murderer and commits a murder-suicide between her and her kids. There is no direct evidence however that Antoine Smith was abusive so as Scumhunter said, we cannot jump to conclusions.

I checked the San Bernandino County court records website and confirmed that Leticia Smith's murder case status appears as "warrant". To compare, I checked an old 2007 traffic charge for her and saw that status as "closed". So she is still a wanted fugitive.

Also, while her kids are still listed on missingkids.org, we can assume Leticia is still at large as well.

As of July 28th, 2018, Isabell and Abigail Smith are still listed on the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children's missingkids.org website as missing children. api.missingkids.org/poster/NCMC/1248260/2Oddly, missingkids.org only says the girls "may be in the company of their mother" but does not show a photo of Leticia Smith and/or mention her by name. However, a search of San Bernardino County's online criminal court records still shows Leticia's murder charges as "Case Status: Warrant" as of July 28th, 2018: portal.sb-court.org/Portal/Home/WorkspaceMode?p=0

moving this thread to the "Fugitives on TV" section since Leticia, Isabell, and Abigail are on the list of cases for season 1 of Investigation Discovery's "In Pursuit with John Walsh."
We will not know until airing whether it will be a full-fugitive segment or a brief fugitive/missing child (children) mention.

She very well could have been the victim of domestic violence but her actions since the day of her husband's killing by going on the run do nothing to help her case at all. It makes it look like she did indeed kill him in cold blood and is now trying to run from her actions.

Yeah, my feeling is for all we know Antoine could have been the victim of domestic violence as well since it's an under-reported fact that males can be domestic abuse victims also in relationships. I'll wait for the In Pursuit profile for the most part as other than speaking in generalities I don't want to say anything that amounts to speculation about the relationship. The fact of the matter is Abigail and Isabell are in a very unhealthy situation and the main concern should be their safety and well-being.

And sure enough, the In Pursuit airing says that Antione was actually the victim of domestic violence at the hands of Leticia, according to his friend and co-worker. Antione's co-worker and friend stated he would come to work with scratches. There was also apparently one night where Leticia called 911 crying but then tried to back out of it. According to the friend Leticia was fine while they saw scratches on Antione (I think that's what he said, please correct me if I'm wrong as he talked kind of fast and I only know he was saying something about scratches and Antione) and saw nothing wrong and left. What I don't get is why Leticia wasn't arrested for domestic violence or at least misuse of 911.
What's also crazy is initially they checked the house and smelled something but thought it had to do with the dog. It turns out, Antione might have been in the house for eight days with Abigail and Isabell still living there!
And yeah I hope those social media commenters can realize their own asinine assumptions now that they know it is allegedly the other way around. I take domestic violence against women seriously and consider myself a #MeToo guy but Antione was described as a big dude and he worked at a military base with Leticia and there is a precarious position where she allegedly initiates the contact but if he hits here he goes to jail and not to mention based on his size and background, he'd have to be careful not to accidentally kill her if he hit her back. So this is a case where it is actually the man trapped.
As far as whereabouts, besides the obvious that Leticia and the girls may still be in Mexico, Smith may be using her maiden name of Sanchez.

I just watched the Leticia Smith segment and honestly I just hope the children didn’t witness their fathers murder, yes I understand that if they knew their fathers body was covered and deceased, it must have been very traumatic and disturbing for both of them at such a young age.
I give Cal credit for taking this case for this segment, he did a splendid job.
Anyways People like Leticia Smith don’t realize the damage they are doing because in the their 2 daughters will suffer without a father and a mother.
This case is rather unique since there is a female perpetrator and aggressor and Antione was just going about his buisness, Antione didn’t have to deal with Leticia’s toxic personality and that’s exactly what she is toxic, Antione didn’t have to die either.
I hope they can find the 2 girls safe and sound, and Leticia gets caught and returned to California to answer for what she did.
