I checked district court case search and unfortunately it says "Case Dismissed" on June 11th, 2021. There's always the possibility of dismissed without prejudice but it mentions a jury trial scheduled for later in the year was cancelled. Granted, I am a big believer in innocent until proven guilty despite running a fugitive forum, but it is unfortunate if prosecutors just didn't feel they had enough to have a trial. I do believe in karma regardless. www.clarkcountycourts.us/Portal/Home/WorkspaceMode?p=0

I am not 100 percent sure but it looks like it based on the case dismissed and cancelled jury trial.

If he allegedly committed the murder he’s accused of, it’s sad that the case was possibly dismissed, and hopefully going forward, karma catches up to him ten fold.
So much trouble adding him to the top ten list, locating him and all for what? So the case can be dismissed 3 years later.

I double checked and it has case open for case status.
So yeah now I'm not so certain one way or the other.
Regardless even the "best case" scenario- a case dismissed without prejudice that can still be brought to trial later- still means justice has been delayed.
I'll continue to monitor for updates.

Sad to say but some cases, even ones that seem airtight can fall apart. It appears to be the case here but I hope justice will still be done.

Yeah it's a bit confusing because the disposition says case open but the latest events say "case dismissed".
I'm a big believer in innocent until proven guilty- but I'm also a big believer in just because you were found innocent or charges are dropped doesn't mean you're actually innocent. As a matter of fact, a jury is supposed to find a defendant not guilty even if they think they likely committed the crime, but aren't convinced beyond a reasonable doubt- so even them finding you innocent doesn't even mean they truly thought so. This case appears to be a case dismissed by Judge or prosecutors possibly- but still just because they didn't feel they had enough evidence doesn't mean you're innocent either.
We'll see what happens with Munguia. I'm not saying I'm not sure because I'm desperate- but because I'm truly confused based on the disposition not matching with the events.

A wholesale dismissal makes zero sense to me. Even if you couldn't prove the murder charges, he'd still be on the hook for unlawful flight.

Hi andrendp,
welcome to the forum!
The frustrating part is it just says case dismissed without explaining if that is with or without prejudice.
I am right now more optimistic than pessimistic because it still says case open, but it would be nice to have some clarity.
I'll continue to monitor the court records and provide updates for everyone.

Latest events: June 21st, 2021: Settlement conference June 22nd, 2021: Criminal order to statistically close case. I looked up and statistically closing cases usually refers to probation cases, not murder trials. So it is still confusing what is going on here. www.clarkcountycourts.us/Portal/Home/WorkspaceMode?p=0

I’m wondering if there was a ruling that the State was taking too long on getting him to trial.

It now says case status closed.
I hope one day we can find out what happened- good or bad
