I'm just amazed how he was able to slip through the cracks in both America and Ireland. It's a good possibility he died but I also recall that he fled to Canada with another woman he married.

According to the the US sun he passed away from Alzheimer's around 2004 to 2006 he also remarried to his third wife in Ireland and both have since passed this case shows me that criminals should not be let out due to extradition technicality joe Maloney got to live his life freely but he may have gotten to live in this world happy but I it's nothing compared to what he faces in the life after this one I hope the victims family can at least take comfort in knowing he can no longer hurt anyone else ever again

Taking nothing away from the amazing work of the podcast team (who are on our forum!) this is not official, although I do believe in their research and that Maloney unfortunately basically got away with it. In summary, I believe in the Runaway Joe research and believe Maloney is dead but we need official FBI confirmation before putting deceased and moving to captures section.

In summary, I believe in the Runaway Joe research and believe Maloney is dead but we need official FBI confirmation before putting deceased and moving to captures section. I was just going to suggest this. Just think, though: Maloney went so far as to hiding in a communist country to avoid capture. He was beyond desperate if this is all true. |

I’m actually amazed the East Germans didn’t detain him if this was true: the communists wanted nothing to do with Westerners, including defectors. Heck, the Soviets tried to expel Lee Harvey Oswald until he slashed his wrists and they ruled he could stay there without becoming a citizen. |
