The U.S. Marshals Service is asking residents throughout Bastrop County to be on the lookout for 37-year-old Paige resident Aaron Ivy, who authorities say is a suspect in a sexual assault reported July 30.
Ivy — listed at 6’1”, 180 pounds, with blond hair and hazel eyes — is also a person of interest in a shooting that took place the following day at the Go Green International headquarters in Paige, according to Deputy U.S. Marshal Brandon Filla.
The Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office said they received a call around 1 a.m. on July 30 from a teenage girl under the age of 17 who said that Ivy had sexually assaulted her at their residence in the 100 block of Bastrop Street in Paige. Ivy then reportedly left the residence carrying a shotgun and headed off into a wooded area near the home, said Filla.
Within 24 hours, a crane operator with Go Green, which is located near Ivy’s residence, called the sheriff’s office with a report of a man wearing a t-shirt who had been firing shots around the business before retreating into the woods. Officials with the sheriff’s office searched the area by helicopter twice, but were unable to locate the shooter.
According to Filla, Ivy had been previously arrested in June 2000 after opening fire on police officers responding to a disturbance call at his residence.
Filla also believe Ivy may be receiving help from a close friend or relative.
“I would definitely say I think this guy may be receiving some type of assistance from a family member or close associate,” he said, adding that Ivy’s vehicle is still parked in the same spot and hasn’t been moved. “He didn’t leave with any personal possessions except the shotgun.”
Authorities are asking residents to call in if they have any information pertaining to Ivy’s whereabouts.
“Any kind of information from anyone who knew him will help,” said Filla, noting that officials strongly believe he’s still in the area. “Where he hangs out, who he associates with. Anything that can help up develop a pattern of his behavior.”
Residents with any information regarding Ivy can contact the U.S. Marshals Service by calling 512-916-5393 or emailing txw.austin@usdoj.gov.
Thoughts? According to another article, Ivy also spent 8 years in prison for burlgary of a habitat so this is not only a dangerous alleged predator but career criminal as well.
Ivy has been wanted since July of last year giving him plenty of time to run anywhere, but I feel chances are good he may still be in Texas.
