Rogelio Vasquez has been wanted by Orange, Texas authorities since 1997 for the murder of his wife. He was on AMW as a web-exclusive. Below is the archived description of his case:
Kids Seek Justice for Murdered Mother
Cops in Orange, Texas have been waiting since June 1997 to serve Rogelio Guerra Vasquez an arrest warrant for murder the murder of his wife.
Police discovered the body of Guerra’s 38-year-old wife, Sugie Vasquez, in a Newton County pond on May 16,1997.
Authorities say Sugie had been brutally beaten; her cause of death was found to be blunt force trauma to the head. They say she had also been stabbed twice.
Cops say Vasquez told his brother of the horrific crime he committed, and where the body could be found, before heading for the border.
Sugie's murder left an irreparable void in the lives of her three children, who suspect their father is guilty of the cold-blooded crime.
Each of them awaits the day when Vasquez is finally brought to justice for the way he's accused of ending their parents' 20-year marriage.
"I can't tell you how deeply this has affected our family," said Emily Vasquez, Sugie's youngest daughter. "After 12 years of Rogelio on the run, the news I would dread the most is getting a phone call stating that Rogelio is dead. That would leave so many unanswered questions and I see no justice in that."
Authorities: Vasquez Ran For The Border

....
Thoughts? The kids want to see Vasquez caught alive one day to get the answer as to why. In my opinion, I'm not sure there ever is a good answer as to why a loved one was killed that will satisfy any murder victim- especially when the person they did it is their own father or other family member. However, Sugie's children still deserve the chance to confront their father in court one day, even 18 years later. Perhaps the answer still won't be good enough, but at least hopefully it will take away the not knowing in addition to getting justice.
