Ok one more thing before I finally go to bed lol- the interview segments for the first episode are now more walk and talk with the detectives as opposed to just them sitting at a desk. A small minor change but still cool to see.

Excellent episode of In Pursuit tonight. Two new cases were a missing child segment (which was actually an unidentified doe segment- this may have been the first time ever on the show?) that has some details and a 15 SOS fugitive that I've never heard of and can't find anything about online to hopefully post tomorrow once I can hopefully get some more information but it's getting late (damn you ID for pushing it back to 10 and not letting us watch earlier on Max or Discovery Plus anymore lol) so I'll post those cases tomorrow (well the missing child one at least- but the 15 sos fugitive frustratingly at the moment has no details) good night everyone !

Actually realized we had Lukeville John Doe after all and was able to add Derlis Padilla Torres as the 15 SOS fugitive.

I was able to watch the episode, and the segment for a John Doe is a great addition. Hopefully they'll add more John/Jane Doe(s) in the future

Ok turns out the Chicago segment was two unsolved cases- 18-year-old Christian Beamon- the brother of Fox News analyst Gianno Caldwell along with the drive-by-shooting death of 5-year-old Cecelia Thomas back in 2022.
I'm going to be honest though- and I hope I'm cut some slack as I don't think I've ever criticized In Pursuit in such a way in five years- but the segment felt a little too political for me as opposed to the matter-of-fact way In Pursuit usually presents cases- and using Chicago as the trendy example for issues with gun violence and crime when it is or was an issue in many major cities- along with the fact crime has actually went down in Chicago this year among many other major cities (Washington D.C. is one of the rare exceptions of large cities where crime has went up this year- if anywhere they should have chosen them). Also, 2022 was still somewhat of a covid world as opposed to now when it comes to crime and inefficiencies in that year. Unfortunately, perception does not match reality and the average person is likely under the impression crime has gotten worse lately when it actually hasn't. I know John as much as I love him may feel differently but I respectfully disagree with his take that crime in the U.S. is worse than ever and feel crime is obviously still an issue- just not one that's gotten worse and has actually gotten better recently. That's not to say there's not work to do- and I've stated there will always be a need for AMW In Pursuit or a show like it- this country is too large for crime to just go away- but we can do our best to mitigate it and progressively make this a safer world.
But I love everyone at In Pursuit and honestly speaking I still think although AMW improved this year- In Pursuit is still the better show (AMW is more accessible and easier to get captures off of but quality wise I like In Pursuit better). I hope I'm cut some slack since this was the first time in five years that I think I've said anything this critical- and although I didn't care for the political undertones- it was well produced and very emotional.
There apparently won't be a show on next week, which sucks for me since it means I'll miss the finale on June 19th but we'll worry about when the time comes (just no one nag me why isn't the episode guide updated- capture directory etc... updated- that will have to wait until the start of July for anything related to the June 19th episode lol).
Anyway, I will post the Beamon and Thomas cases and update the 15 SOS and missing cases when I get a chance tomorrow or whenever this week as my polite rant went on a bit too long and I need to go to bed now lol.

^ As someone from Chicago, I agree. So much of the scripting felt really one-sided. Yes, Chicago has issues with crime. So does the town in Iowa I lived in for years - a town, with less than 25,000 people, which has several unsolved murders. I wrote about three murder cases in a county of less than 10,000 people. Like you said, I think the Walshes are amazing, but that was some really biased and inaccurate writing.

Like you said, I think the Walshes are amazing, but that was some really biased and inaccurate writing. I’ll go one step further and say I loved Chicago when I visited and the streets were amazingly clean compared to New York and I never felt unsafe- as it seems the crime is mainly concentrated to specific neighborhoods such as the South Side. So to be fair I was in the more touristy parts but I probably felt safer there than even nyc and the only reason I can’t move to Chicago (besides needing a well paying enough job lol) is I can’t stand cold weather and I was freezing there in April like it was February lol But yeah I’m not going to pretend Chicago is utopia and doesn’t have issues with crime, but like you said - crime is not Chicago specific Anyway glad it’s not just me and I have confirmation But yeah in summary to anyone at In Pursuit- we still love you and hope there can actually be more seasons- just please don’t do a segment like that again lol

Oddly zap2it.com is showing next week as the finale but June 19th is listed as well so probably some sort of error. Sort of annoyed since circumstances that had nothing to do with In Pursuit made me push back my vacation by a week and I was like “awesome a silver lining is now I get to see all of In Pursuit after all!” Only for them to take that random week off anyway and make me miss the finale after all lol but at least it’s only the last episode with tbh I feel like Ruja Ignatova was better suited for AMW than In Pursuit but I’m sure it will still be a good episode.

And now Steven Oboite has been captured. The absolute worst case scenario from an airing perspective- not from a justice perspective of course- is when a fugitive gets captured before In Pursuit has a chance to air them since this is a filmed way in advance on a lesser budget show and they don’t have the ability to just replace a fugitive as a breaking news show like AMW- and this affects them even more than usual since there are only six episodes. Of course I’d rather Oboite be caught than not caught- just disappointed it couldn’t have happened sooner so a still at large fugitive could have been aired instead. Hopefully we can still get a capture out of this season. Also in fairness the publicity that Oboite was going to be on In Pursuit (Dejuane Anderson as well) may have helped contribute to his capture.

Ok back to the same In Pursuit we know and love last night. Just give me a little time to update things as it had nothing to do with the quality of the episode but I was exhausted and fell asleep in the middle of it lol (this is why I hate that they moved it back to 10 PM again and they don’t stream it earlier anymore but I digress lol) I was able to wake up and finish it but it also meant going to actual bedtime immediately afterwards.
But yeah I need more naps- I’ve become a senior cat lately.
