UPDATE: Ernesto Alas-Alcantar and Sonia Lemus Alcantar were arrested in Kansas City, Missouri on September 20th, 2017!!!Fugitive Profile as of January 18th, 2015 (Based on Utah County Sheriff's Office Website) DOB: 10/9/1978 Last Known Address: 666 E CENTER ST APT 17 PROVO, UT 84606 Height : 5'7 Weight: 173 lbs Race: Hispanic Eyes: Brown Hair: BLlack TIPS: If you have any information to help bring this fugitive and/or his wife Sonia Lemus Alcantar (not pictured) in for justice, call the Utah County Sheriff Office at 801-851-4065, or e-mail them at the following website: www.utahcounty.gov/Dept/Sheriff/Corrections/MostWantedDetail.asp?ID=3748566Over the years, those of us who are fans of AMW and or The Hunt have seen an unfortunately large amount of alleged child molesters wanted by authorities. And while I am often disgusted or angry by what police say they did, the sad reality of how often these stories are told means very rarely am I truly in shock. But what Ernesto Alas-Alcantar, and his wife, Sonia Lemus Alcantar (who I unfortunately couldn't find a picture of) are accused of doing caused even me to nearly vomit. It all started in February 2011 when then 32-year old Ernesto Alas-Alcantar took some photos to Sam's club to be developed. But soon the employees would notice the photos in question were reportedly of Erensto performing inappropriate sexual acts with a 4-year old boy and 10-month old baby male. In total, there were 12 pictures depicting criminal acts of child pornography according to police. (One article in the first link below describes what the alleged sexual acts were and what also was found in those pictures, which I didn't consider PG enough to post here). However, the story gets worse from there. It turns out the 4-year old boy and 10-month old infant boy were Ernesto Alas-Alcantar and Sonia Alcantar's own children. And while Ernesto would allegedly sexually abuse the boys, Sonia would reportedly photograph the acts. When police asked Ernesto about the pictures, he reportedly said that they depict "family play," which is common in his home country of El Salvador. However, Julia Thomas, the Prosecutor in the case, says she has yet to meet anyone from any country who describes the acts as normal or that they are acceptable in their culture. In 2011, Ernesto was charged with two counts of sodomy on a child, a first-degree felony, and eight counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony. Sonia was charged with eight counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. But neither of the two appeared in court the day they were supposed to, and prosecuting and defense attorneys said they could not locate the couple. Prosecutors told the court that after Ernesto bailed out of jail (thanks to a friend who was in danger of losing their house as a result) in February 2011 the couple apparently flew to their native El Salvador, then returned. They reportedly were stopped on their way back to Utah at the Atlanta airport when they tried to bring illegal pork products into the country. After arriving in Utah the couple allegedly cleaned out their apartment and disappeared. Prosecutor Thomas says a warrant has been issued for their arrest, but they unfortunately have little recourse if they fled the country. However, by putting this case on our internationally read website, I'm hoping to change that. Thoughts? I think I haven't been sickened this much by a couple since John Stoneman and Patricia Kelley. Unfortunately, it will be difficult to capture the two if they fled to El Salvador, but we have seen some strides recently, such as the capture of Edwin Rivera Gracias on the FBI's Top 10 list. While this is a surprisingly less public case, it doesn't mean we can't hope for justice even if they're in another country, especially once their neighbors find out what they were accused of doing. Wherever these two are, they need to come back to the U.S. to face justice for their alleged crimes. For what it's worth with on what little I know on Sonia, she is said to be 29 with brown hair and black eyes. Also, one more side note, I don't know what happened to their two children. I assume they aren't with them since it would have been mentioned if they were. But if anyone finds out otherwise, please let me know. The scary thing is the couple is still young enough they could always conceivably give birth to and/or adopt more children to potentially allegedly abuse. www.heraldextra.com/news/local/crime-and-courts/couple-accused-of-sexually-abusing-sons-disappear/article_9388816b-c9db-57b5-9aaf-40ded0ae1e54.htmlwww.heraldextra.com/news/local/crime-and-courts/utah-county-s-most-wanted-husband-and-wife-wanted-for/article_c8ab6431-85ea-5fa8-a253-3bcab8c693b9.htmlwww.utahcounty.gov/Dept/Sheriff/Corrections/MostWantedDetail.asp?ID=3748566Admin Note: If you have any news-related updated information on this case, please contact us here: amwfans.com/thread/1662/website-contact-form

This is what happens when you combine John Stoneman, Patricia Kelley and John Lockhart, you get the despicable monster that is Ernesto Alas-Alcantar. What I find the most irritating about this story is that they returned to Utah to clean out their apartment and law enforcement couldn't stop them from fleeing the US again! Also I read the full description regarding Ernesto's actions, there is no way that is acceptable amongst parents in El Salvador!

The Judge was also understandably furious that Ernesto and Sonia were somehow permitted to leave the country. I don't know what the heck went wrong- a mix-up in paperwork, ineptitude of airport screening or what but it's completely unacceptable.

The first link you provided tells of some VERY Not-Safe-For-Work acts that Alas-Alcantar has committed! And he's dumb enough to think that anyone would buy the allegation that it's normal anywhere in the world! I thought that kind of abuse on children that young would be a universal taboo! And the victims were their own sons! It's one of the worst betrayals we've ever seen!

Just wanted to update that Ernesto Alas-Alcantar has been removed from Utah County's Most Wanted for whatever reason. A search of the Utah Statewide Warrants page confirms he's still wanted.

Very odd. At least our site still has him spotlighted if he's still wanted.

Hello there, Thank you for joining our site! Do you have any proof of Alas-Alcantar's capture, via a news article or something else? That's not to say I don't believe you, it's just unfortunately the only acceptable ways of proof this site can accept to claim a fugitive is captured is an official news article or contact from a law enforcement agency. With that being said, based on your information, was his wife Sonia with him and did they have the two children after all? (the reports didn't mention if they took the children with them when they fled). Also, when you registered you said John Walsh posted, I'm not John Walsh, this is a fan site for his shows and me and other posters in the spirit of him like to find crime stories and specifically fugitive stories and post them on our site in the hopes of drawing more attention to the cases and getting them captured, which is what we're hoping happened here. Thanks for joining, if you ever come across a news article or anything else of the sort so we can claim him as captured, please let us know!

Unfortunately I do not have an article but, I work with him. I know for a fact that he and his wife were arrested this week. They were taken into custody by either Kansas City, Mo police or Grandview, Mo police. They had their children with them. It is my understanding that they have five children now. We took food, diapers, formula and, other things over for the children who are staying with a relative. He has worked for us for several years. We only found out today that he was a wanted man.

Nice I definitely believe you as that would be quite the story to make up lol.
Just frustratingly I can't claim anything without an article or message from police source.
But I do believe you and learning a co-worker could be a fugitive wanted for such terrible alleged crimes must have been quite a shock for you
Please let us know if you find out any additional details!

P.S. I should add the reason we have that article or police source requirement is because there's been incidents in the past where we've been e-mailed and told a fugitive is captured and/or someone registered to claim someone was captured and then I'd contact a police source to verify and they'd be like "No, they're still at large." So yeah, I definitely believed you, it's just this is why I had to say "that's it from now on, no matter how credible someone seems, no claiming someone is captured without proof" LOL. Do you know how exactly Ernesto and Sonia were tracked down to Missouri? It seems investigators figured they fled to El Salvador, so it's a bit shocking they were found living in the United States.

I am not sure. I just know that Ernesto came to us on Tuesday and said that he needed to go home because the police were at his house taking his wife into custody.
