Nash was twice divorced with 3 children when she met Gary Cooper. The two spent all their time partying, doing drugs, etc. After a while, Cooper got tired of Nash's lifestyle and violent outbursts and left her (according to the old website, he kicked her out of his van on a freeway). Later that evening, she returned to Cooper's place to find him in bed with another woman. She took two of Cooper's guns and shot both him and the woman to death. She allegedly contacted her mother on Christmas 1992, but thats the last possible contact from her authorities heard about. She was a native of Tennessee, so she could've moved back there after the murders. But I believe Nash is probably dead. She's had a history of drug and alcohol abuse, and I could have sworn I read somewhere that she had suicidal tendancies. I believe she went the way Annette Hernandez did. I agree with you on Nash likely being deceased, especially considering the last time she contacted her mother. She had way too much of an unhealthy lifestyle.

When you also consider that family members said she was abused as a child, I find it unlikely that she's managed to stay under the radar for all these years and still be alive. Her lifestyle would have produced more leads than the last publicized one in 1992.

I mean, it's possible she stopped partying and settled down, but since that life wasn't for her, since she left two families already, my guess is that she succumbed to alcoholism and drug addiction, probably dying as a result. I'm not sure if her mother is still alive, but even if not, it's still possible there were more contacts she never told the police about.

Nash is a case where you must study how she was brought up and the life she lived to understand what eventually led to the crime she allegedly committed. I am in no way excusing what she did if guilty and if by some miracle she is alive and captured she needs to go to jail for the rest of her life if convicted. But I still feel she led a tragic life.

Hi Leah, thanks for explaining beforehand when you registered. We have had victims, relatives of victims. and even friends and relatives (such as you) of the fugitives post, and as long as no one's cussed or yelled at, I'm all ok with freedom of speech. Anyway, those are some interesting things you shared. I don't want to put words in your mouth and hope I'm not misinterpreting your post but it seems regardless of what Vickie did or didn't do and whether she is guilty or innocent, your family misses her and hopes she can turn herself in so they can see her again. Good luck.

I could say i wished she would turn her self in. but seeing how old the case is. she be surely convicted. where ever she's at I hope she's well. i wished there was proof to clear her name so she could step out of the shadows. but unfortinally its still a ongoing case and her as lead person. i no when her dad died i went. and there was a mysterious woman there who looked like my mom. by the pictures i seen of her i coulda swore was her. but either way in life or death i wish her well.

Well, I still feel it's up to the justice system which although flawed is better than most countries to decide someone's guilt or innocence. But I do sympathize with the emotional trauma your family went and perhaps is still going through, and hope if she ever is alive and captured or surrenders, a fair jury decides the case. I'm not going to judge whether your Aunt is innocent or guilty without a trial showcasing all the facts, but I do always wish for closure in these cases no matter the outcome for either side. Once again, good luck.

To all those posting in this thread related to Nash, let me just clarify that I do not know whether or not she is innocent or guilty. I posted the information based on what I've read on AMW, which I assume they received from law enforcement. I will say that the fact that she went on the run does not bode well for her case, but if she were to turn herself in, it's possible she could clear her name, even with all the time that has passed.
Again, just clarifying in case there's any misconception.

When it comes to cold case fugitives, since many may already be deceased, I usually scour the web to see if I can find anything- death records, obituaries etc. I found a website where you can search social security death indexes. And one name on this site I did find something I think *might* be part of a bigger picture... The link may be hard to read since there is a pop-up promotion to join the site for free but the following is what it says: Name: Vickie A. Nash State of Issue: Maine Date of Birth: Sunday, April 2, 1950 Date of Death: Sunday, February 20, 1994 Est. Age at Death: 43 years, 10 months, 18 days. I find this peculiar for a few reasons. Vickie is an unusual spelling of Vicky as it is, not to mention the same middle initial. Also, I cross-referenced with Nash's 2004 amw.com archived profile- she was listed as 53 years old in 2004. Meaning she would have been the same age as this Vickie Nash 10 years before. I also find this significant since it's a social security issued death index and not a judicial decision. And this is 2 years after she was said to have called her mother. While some times fugitives are declared deceased before a body is found, I think 2 years after a new lead in a new state is asking a lot. In addition, Nash disappeared from Texas and I never saw anything beforehand to suggest she had a connection to the state of Maine. It could just be a coincidence but I see enough similarities that I'm curious now. Curious if any of Vickie's family members here were aware of this and/or know her date of birth to match this up? I'm not trying to cause any pain and heartbreak but just want to help solve these cases and bring closure to both families alike. I hope I may be onto something here to provide closure... www.genealogybank.com/gbnk/ssdi/doc/news/112F2E74D4C5FBF7web.archive.org/web/20041205103219/http://www.amw.com/fugitives/profile.cfm?id=23676

Thanks to HeadMarshal I learned Vickie Nash's date of birth is Dec. 1st, 1951 from the 1997 AMW archive. So obviously we have different dates of birth but it still intrigues me since they're close. I already submitted this to the FBI just in case there's more to this. Once again, only trying to help close this case if I can both for Vickie and her alleged victim's families.

Ok I never heard back from the FBI- it doesn't mean they didn't receive my tip but there's no way of knowing. I once sent them an e-mail about a rather glaring type-o in one of their cases on the website but they have yet to fix it so who knows. So I've sent a tip to Crime Stoppers of Houston as well. This might be a different Vickie Nash, but it's worth trying at least.

Got a message back from Crime Stoppers of Houston:
"Hello, Tipster
Sorry, but Crime Stoppers does not conduct investigations (which is what this type of tip needs). We apprehend 'WANTED' fugitives. Feel free to call the HPD homicide cold case squad with your information if you think you may be of some assistance to them. Their number is: 713-308-3600."
Really? Last time I checked Vickie Nash was a 'WANTED' fugitive. I sent in a tip she might be a dead woman from Maine. All they'd have to do is contact the homicide squad themselves and they could investigate based on my information. I thought even if they don't 'investigate' they still forward tips to L.E. Instead, I guess I should do their job for them. (This is why I wanted to set up my own tip form).
In any case, hopefully the FBI received my web tip. I'm not going to go jumping through hoops on a theory, although I feel I have a pretty decent one.
If anyone feels I'm onto something, contact the homicide squad with the information.
