(Above photo credit: amw.com archives) Fugitive Profile as of December 5th, 2014 (Based on 2011 AMW archive/Chesterfield County Wanted page) Sex: Male Race: Hispanic Date of Birth: 03/12/1975 Height: 5'5" Weight: 152 lbs. Hair: Brown Eyes: Brown Traits and Habits: Luna is an experienced construction laborer, who specializes in HVAC duct work and dry wall. Location information: Luna may seek out Guatemalan communities. Last Seen: Chesterfield County , VA Other Possible Locations: Florida, New York Last Known Locations: Chesterfield County , VA Who to call if you've seen him: Crime Solvers at 804-748-0660. You can also submit a web tip to them at the following link: www.tipsubmit.com/WebTips.aspx?AgencyID=699Dimas Luna was aired on the November 28th, 2009 episode of AMW on Fox. Below is an archived description of his case: Cops: Jealous Boyfriend Targets Competition After Dimas DeJesus Luna moved in with his new girlfriend, his uneasiness set in quickly because he realized her old boyfriend, Elisea Camacho, still kept in contact with her. On September 13, 2006, cops say Elisea drove over to his former girlfriend's home in Chesterfield County, Va. to check in with her, and to see how she was doing. He brought his friend, Herber Felipe Hernandez Sucup, along for the ride. But when the two friends arrived, Luna quickly erupted. Without hesitation, cops say Luna drew a pistol and fired two shots into their vehicle. Both Elisea and Herber suffered gunshot wounds, but Elisea managed to flee the scene in his truck and drove to a nearby convenience store. Once safe, Elisea contacted police. Unfortunately, Herber died as a result of the shooting. Now, Luna has been on the run for more than three years, and detectives are hoping your tips might bring his life on the run to an end. Thoughts? Not that it wouldn't be less any tragic if Elisea was the one who died, but it's especially sad that Herber probably didn't even know Dimas and died just for being in his friend's car. Luna specializes in HVAC and dry wall and according to his AMW profile may be in Florida and New York. In my opinion, Luna's line of work gives him plenty of places to hide and make money so he necessarily may not have fled the country. web.archive.org/web/20110822022515/http://www.amw.com/fugitives/brief.cfm?id=68223Admin Note: If you have any news-related updated information on this case, please contact us here: amwfans.com/thread/1662/website-contact-form

The saddest thing about this story is that even if Dimas Luna didn't shoot Elisea and Herber, he would have probably been a horrible boyfriend based on how much he hated Elisea (I imagine he would have been extremely possessive of her).
I agree he may not have fled to Guatemala and there are a few US states with Guatemalan communities he could hide out in.

How's this for craziness? Luna did in fact flee to Guatemala, was recently arrested in the murder of a mayor in the city of Rabinal there, and then ACQUITTED, only to be arrested for Herber's murder as he was walking out of prison. He is now awaiting extradition back to the U.S. Hopefully it happens, although it seems he may have had some sort of decent connections to be acquitted over there. www.wtvr.com/news/local-news/chesterfield-murder-suspect-arrested-in-guatemala-14-years-later

I understand but most fugitives captured in Central America we have to wait for extradition and nine times out of ten it happens- so this is a process we're going to have to deal with for most and we have already dealt with for most. We've seen a lot more "extradited already" cases lately but that hasn't usually been the norm. I think there's reason to be slightly nervous in this case because Luna apparently had some sort of connections- or decent lawyers enough- to get acquitted in Guatemala- but they weren't so great that it prevented him from getting arrested after his acquittal so we shall see.

Thank you for the new article canineunit89. Nothing much new except they're saying it may take years to send Luna back here. This is why I'm usually more celebratory when a fugitive is captured in Central America since nine times out of ten, it's just a matter of waiting for extradition, this is the one case where *something* happened where he was acquitted in Guatemala, so it's a little more worrying but then again the fact he was arrested immediately afterwards could be considered a positive indicator as well. Sucks to have to wait a few years for hopefully justice, but hopefully it eventually happens.
