BOONE COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS) — Boone County deputies said they are seeking a man wanted on a warrant who they believe struck and killed a man with a vehicle and then fled the scene.
Paul “PJ” Williams Jr, 33, of Jeffrey is wanted on a warrant for leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, according to a news release Thursday from the Boone County Sheriff's Office.
Larry A. Pauley, 34, of Jeffrey was struck and killed in the incident about 4 a.m. Wednesday in the Ottawa area, the sheriff's office said.
The sheriff’s office said deputies have been following up on leads and were able to identify the suspect and file criminal charges.
“I’m very proud of the work our deputies have put in over the last 36 hours on this case,” Boone County Sheriff Chad Barker said. “I’m also very happy with the help we have received from the public in the way of tips. If it wasn’t for these two factors, we wouldn’t be at this point in this case.”
The sheriff’s office said anyone who knows the location of Williams or has information about the case can reach out 24 hours a day at 304-369-9913.
