Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods is asking for the public’s help in locating a 51-year-old man who is wanted for sexual battery on a child.
Woods, speaking as part of his regular “Wanted by Woods Wednesday” segment on Facebook, said he and his deputies are searching for Richard Wool, who is accused of three counts of capital sex battery on a young girl.
“Richard is a particularly disgusting and heinous individual,” Woods said. “He is wanted because he raped a little girl on several occasions. Richard took away her innocence and has permanently changed this little girl’s life, so I want to take away his freedom. Justice needs to be served and while we cannot reverse what has already happened, at least we can protect others from this criminal.”
Anyone with information about Wool’s whereabouts is asked to contact Crime Stoppers of Marion County at (352) 368-STOP (7867) and reference 21-19 in your tip. If you use Crime Stoppers and your tip leads to an arrest, you could be eligible for a cash reward.

Thoughts? As of this posting date (March 27th, 2021), Florida's wanted persons database still shows Wool as having a warrant.
