Fugitive Profile as of August 25th, 2014 (Based on US Marshals wanted poster): ALIASES: Suarez, Emilio; Musteler, Barrero; Musieler, Anibal; Mustellier, Anibal; Mustelier, Anileal; Llerena, Ramon; Mutelier, Anivan SEX: Male RACE: White DATE OF BIRTH: July 22, 1950 PLACE OF BIRTH: Cuba HEIGHT: 5'4" WEIGHT: 135 LBS EYES: Brown HAIR: Brown SCARS/TATTOOS: Scar-Neck; Glasses TIPS: If you have any information on the whereabouts of Anibal Mustelier call the US Marshals Service at 1-877-WANTED-2 or send a tip to his reporting agency at the following link: pas.fdle.state.fl.us/pas/setupTip.a?itemSequence=285903&entityType=WantedPerson www.justice.gov/marshals/wanted/major-cases/mustelier.htmIn 2002, AMW first aired the case of wanted Florida hitman Anibal Mustelier. Mustelier was hired twice in 1989 to kill a Florida businessman; two attempts on the businessman's life didn't work. He resurfaced several years later to pull off a large jewelry heist. A scary piece of information from the old amw website mentions that he may have been a hitman for Fidel Castro. Sadly I don't see Mustelier ever getting captured if he's hiding out in Cuba. If I recall correctly he was on an amw strange but true episode for his bizarre attempts to kill twice (I may be wrong but at the very least he should have been)

I apologize for bumping this topic, but I've been going through and reading some old posts and wanted to contribute Anyway, Mustelier was actually not profiled on any Strange But True episodes, but I actually profiled him on my Facebook page when I was doing "Fugitive of the Day." I selected him as one of my personal "Strange But True" cases. AMW actually got a great tip on Mustelier back in 2004. A man in Florida went to get some gas and snacks and his 11-year-old daughter came with and brought the family's video camera just because she wanted to test it out. As the man was paying for the gas, he realized the guy standing behind him in line looked very similar to Mustelier. So after they got in the car, he took his daughter's video camera and recorded the man exiting the store. They called AMW once they got home, but soon realized it was just a look a like (AMW actually interviewed the man, who wasn't mad about it.) Part of me thinks Mustelier is actually still hanging out in Florida somewhere. He reportedly was spotted about 10 years ago in the Miami area.

If I recall correctly he was on an amw strange but true episode for his bizarre attempts to kill twice (I may be wrong but at the very least he should have been) This was one of the cases I still vividly remember. But also I watched a segment on YouTube. Yes, he did tried to put a hit on someone twice and failed.

I watched that segment now too and have a few more notes/clues from the airings:
-It's already mentioned Emilio Suarez is an alias. He has a Florida driver's license with the name.
-Mustelier is an avid ballroom dancer who keeps in shape by constantly working out at gyms.
-He also reportedly hangs out with young good-looking men half his age.
-AMW has received promising tips that unfortunately didn't pan out Mustelier in the past- tip came from a dance studio near Atlanta (which fits in with him enjoying ballroom dancing). Another tip came from Tennessee- where a person thought they saw Mustelier at a gas station and even videotaped him. Unfortunately, both men turned out to be look-a-likes.

According to a long-time AMW viewer, the show may have mentioned a girlfriend named Yvonne Gonzalez. I don't know if she's still believed with Anibal or not, but if anyone can confirm this or has additional info, it would be much appreciated.

Unless it was on his very first profile in February 2002, I don't recall any of his airings mentioning a girlfriend. I've seen all of Mustelier's profile except for his first.
The only woman mentioned on the profile was his accomplice's girlfriend who worked at the bank.

Wow amazing capture! I am really intrigued as to how Mustelier was finally apprehended and what he was doing back in Hialeah which is a Miami suburb. Excellent work to the police agencies!

Ha, I was just about to post this. There was supposed to be a news conference with more detail which might have already happened but no articles with the details have come out online yet though.

Mustelier has been found guilty in relation to the robberies and faces twenty years on one count, and apparently him and another defendant face mandatory minimum sentences of 7 and 25 years on two counts of "brandishing a firearm." I can't find anything about his AMW charges in the article but it sounds like he's going to prison potentially for the rest of his life anyway just based on his recent criminal acts. www.miamiherald.com/news/local/crime/article149044799.html

Mustelier has been sentenced to 52 years in prison. P.S. I realize in some way's they're complementing the show but I still hate when an article says "not even America's Most Wanted could catch them." about indirect captures. It's like they caught over 1200 fugitives but they still make them sound like failures the times a fugitive is caught without their help. www.miamiherald.com/news/local/community/miami-dade/hialeah/article163166808.html
