WASHINGTON, DC — Homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department are asking the public's help in locating a suspect in connection with the Aug. 6 fatal shooting of a District man in Benning Ridge, according to a police release. MPD identified the deceased victim as Michael Brittingham, 26, of Northeast.
Around 5:47 p.m., officers from the Sixth District responded to the 600 block of 46th Place, S.E., for the report of the sounds of gunshots. They found Brittingham suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. After examining the victim, D.C. Fire and EMS determined he showed no signs consistent with life and transported him later to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Police found a second adult man at the scene suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries. In addition, a juvenile male walked into an area hospital suffering from a gunshot wound. He was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
MPD identified Dreaun Young, 17, of Southeast as the suspect in this case, releasing his photo.
Young is wanted on a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant, which charges him as an adult with second degree murder while armed.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to call 202-727-9099 or submit an anonymous tip to the department's TEXT TIP LINE by sending a text message to 50411.
Thoughts? I am placing Young in the Fugitives on TV section because he was mentioned in an article about fugitives wanted by the Washington D.C. Police Department on In Pursuit with John Walsh's page on the ID channel website, In Pursuit linked to the article today on their Facebook page so we know Young was still at large at least as of today's posting date (November 11th, 2020):
UPDATE: As of August 18th, 2021 anyone with information on this fugitive's whereabouts can also call or text "In Pursuit" on the Investigation Discovery channel at 833-378-7783 and/or submit a tip at the show's website: www.InPursuitTips.com
