Durham, N.C. — The Durham Police Department is looking for a man they believe is connected to a deadly Oct. 10 hit-and-run.
On Saturday, Oct. 10, 19-year-old Timothy Frink Jr. was found dead in the 4100 block of University Drive, near Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway.
Enrique Hernandez Beiza, 40, is wanted for arrest by Durham police. Beiza and the Gold 2001 Chevy S-10 with North Carolina-issued license plate EMJ-6403 that hit Frink have both not been located, and officers are asking the public for help.
Anyone with information is asked to call Investigator Rose with the DPD’s Traffic and Crash Team at 919-475-4149 or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200.
The 2019 Jordan High School graduate was killed near the bus stop he often used to commute between his home and his job at a McDonald's on Tower Boulevard, his mother said.
"I’m just trying to understand why, just why it happened. Why would you mess with him, of all people? He never bothered anyone," Mary Frink said. "My son was a good kid. He was a respectful person. He was good. There was nothing bad about him."
"Everybody loved him. He never had any beef with nobody. Timothy was a good kid," Timothy Frink Sr. said. "I don’t understand why someone would take my son from me."
Although homicides in Durham are down from 2019 levels, violent crime in the city is up roughly 23 percent from the same time last year, with the number of aggravated assaults up about 40 percent.
Timothy Frink Sr. said the violence needs to stop.
"I think it need to be handled better than what it is," he said. "I’m just tired of it. I really am. With everything going on, I’m tired."
The Frinks said they hope police can deliver a quick arrest in their son's death.
"I just want justice for my son," Mary Frink said, choking back tears. "I have to bury my son, and I don’t know, I just – I’m just going to miss him. That was my only son."
Timothy Frink Sr. also choked up talking about his son: "Timothy was, he was my heart, and somebody took my heart from me.

Thoughts? As far as I can tell, Hernandez Baiza was still at large as of this posting date (October 25th, 2020) since the above article was from only about a week ago with no updates since. However, if anyone ever has any updates/proof-of-updates, they are always more than welcome to let us know.
