Lesly Palacio was last seen Aug. 29 by family when she went to get drinks with Erick Rangel-Ibarra, 25. Her body was found last week in Moapa Valley near Valley of Fire State Park. Police said after the discovery that they were pursuing a warrant for Rangel-Ibarra and that he and his father, Jose Rangel, 45, were missing. Las Vegas Justice Court records now show a warrant was obtained for Rangel-Ibarra on charges of open murder and destroying/concealing evidence. His father is the subject of an arrest warrant as well. That warrant, issued Monday, charges Rangel with destroying/concealing evidence and harboring, concealing or aiding a felony offender. The Metropolitan Police Department on Tuesday denied a Review-Journal records request for the arrest warrants, citing the open investigation. Palacio, Rangel-Ibarra and his father were all reported missing, and Metro on Sept. 1 published separate news releases regarding the disappearances. The department has also declined requests for all three missing persons reports. Police said both men were last seen in a white 2004 Ford F-150 pickup with a Nevada plate of LVN84A. Rangel-Ibarra is about 5 feet, 6 inches tall, weighs about 173 pounds, and has brown eyes and black hair. He has a tattoo on his ear of California, a tattoo on his chest of a skull, and a tattoo on his left wrist of a “Dragon Ball Z image,” police said. As of today, January 24, 2022, Erick Rangel-Ibarra has an active Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution warrant in PACER. The warrant was issued in September of 2020 after Erick was traced to being near a particular community in the Mexican state of Chihuahua. I won't mention the exact community since this is still a relatively recent case.
Since the FBI issued the federal warrant, it would be greatly appreciated if they could add Erick to their featured fugitives website.

At the time of the murder he had a trimmed beard and moustache, with short hair. It is possible his hair is longer and he may now have a goatee. Also Jose wound up only serving eight months. And the other family members allegedly seen taking things out the house were apparently never prosecuted at all.
Hopefully Erick will get a lot more time if convicted.

I hope in order to make up for only having Jose serve very little time, that they throw the book at Erick, it just baffles me how in the Yaser Said case, the brother and son were given roughly a decade for doing the same thing and in this case only 8 months was given to one of the accomplices. |

Rangel ibarra has finally been taken into custody in mexico and is awaiting extradition back to Las Vegas I know nothing can bring back Lesly Palacio but I hope both her and her family can rest easier knowing that ibarra is no longer on the loose 8newsnow is my source or type his name and it should pop up great work to the Walsh family for profiling the case las Vegas and government authorities and our partners in Mexican law enforcement this brings me to three major captures
