(Above photo credit: kmph.com via Hanford Police Department) From kmph.com: HANFORD, Calif. (FOX26) — The Hanford Police Department is looking for a man they say sexually assaulted a 7-year-old girl. Police say the child's grandfather called them on June 28th to say he witnessed the crime in progress. He told officers he walked out of his bedroom and saw his daughter's boyfriend, Juan A. Covarrubias, sexually assaulting his granddaughter. When the grandfather confronted Covarrubias, he says he took off out the back door. Police say Covarrubias has sexually assaulted the young victim on numerous occasions. He is wanted by the Hanford Police Department for violation of the crime of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 and having sex with a child under 10. Covarrubias was last seen on Hanford-Armona Road on June 30th. Police say Covarrubias is from Mexico and may be trying to make his way back. He is 26 years old, 5'10 and approximately 230 lbs., with short black hair, brown eyes and is known to have a short beard. He also has "COVARRUBIAS" tattooed on his inner right forearm and letters "KC" with a crown on top of one of his hands.
