(Above photo credit: Stanislaus Area Crime Stoppers) From Stanislaus Area Crime Stoppers: Modesto Police Department Detectives continue their investigation into the shooting death of an adult man near Pequeno and Wilson Avenues. At about 4:30 am on July 24, 2016, officers responded to a 9-1-1 call of a man down in the roadway. Once on scene, emergency personnel found Hughson resident, 35-year-old Gregory Pimentel, who had been shot. Lifesaving measures were administered, but Pimentel succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Detectives believe suspect, 29-year-old Eduardo Lopez of Ceres, shot Pimentel while in front of a residence in the 200 block of Wilson Avenue, following an argument. Pimentel ran to the 900 block of Pequeno Avenue where he was found by emergency personnel. Lopez fled from the area prior to police arrival. Detectives are actively investigating the details leading up to the shooting and have issued a warrant for Lopezs arrest. If you have any information about the shooting or know of Lopezs whereabouts, we encourage you to contact Detective Gumm at 209-342-9162 or 209-534-737 Thoughts? As of this posting date (July 9th, 2020), Lopez is still listed as a wanted fugitive on Stanislaus Area Crime Stoppers: www.stancrimetips.org/mostwanted/default.asp?pg=Admin Note: If you have any (news-related) updates on this case, please contact us here: amwfans.com/thread/1662/website-contact-form

That is a 2016 article four days after the homicide. He was still on the website four years later, I'd rather err on the side of caution and assume he's still at large without anymore definitive proof since he could have been arrested and then released and thats how he became a fugitive. Granted, he's no longer on the website, but they got rid of most of their older cases so that isn't proof either.

Ok I checked Stanislaus court search and there is an Eduardo Lopez that went on trial and was convicted this year but I have no idea if it is the same Eduardo Lopez or not. (Even if it was, he could have been arrested recently and not in 2016). Unfortunately still have no clue so if any of our readers do please let us know!

I'm leaning towards it probably being Lopez arrested in 2016 and then convicted in 2023 based on what I've gathered- which is embarrassing for Stanislaus Crime Stoppers that they left him on the site for at least four years when he was already captured (possibly)- just since I'm only 99 percent sure as opposed to 100 percent sure I unfortunately have to keep him in at large section for now.
