Until a few years ago,Indiana had some of the biggest gain time laws in the country where if you behaved yourself in prison, you could get three days taken off your sentence. It's how Wade and other early Indiana AMW captures were able to get out early despite being sentenced to 50-60 years(Sarah Pender would have been out in a few years if she hadn't escaped.) Most of them have stayed out of trouble but Wade never did and it's not a shock his life ended the way it did. Thank goodness the only person hurt was himself and no one else.

I have all the sympathy in the world for mental health issues- they run in my families- but Meisberger seemed to use the "mental health sympathy" card that makes it harder for those with legitimate issues to be taken seriously.
I'm not saying Meisberger didn't potentially have issues, but as we can see how he couldn't stay out of trouble even after his brief stint as some sort of motivational speaker, it was him making excuses for himself.

IMO,he had borderline personality disorder> It is a mental illness but it's not one where you don't know the difference between right and wrong.

Yikes. This case has certainly taken some strange twists and turns over the years. I don't think he ever completely took responsibility for killing Mike (I remember that really bizarre interview with AMW where he claimed that to him, Mike isn't actually dead) and it's clear that something went wrong in Meisberger's life to make him act the way he did.
Meisberger was clearly suffering from mental health issues, and while I'm sorry that he was never able to get help for them, that doesn't excuse his actions. It's sad that it had to end this way. He needed help, and he should have gotten help.

The mental health system in this country is a joke and has been for a long, long time.

Yeah I have mixed emotions in this case because if anyone has sympathy for mental health issues- it's me. I know what it's like to know people and have family members with mental health issues. I also know what it's like to have violent family members with mental health issues as well. But I feel this case was a combination of our poor mental health system but also Meisberger not taking personal responsibility when he was given ample opportunity to turn his life around (especially when some would argue he didn't deserve any opportunity). There are some who just use mental health as a crux. I'm not going to celebrate his death and I think Meisberger had legitimate mental health issues and wasn't just pretending to have them, but at the same time it's sad it ended this way both because of our mental health system and the choices he made.
