(Above photo credits: amw.com) Authorities in Las Vegas are searching for the killers of Sarah Keyenejad. AMW aired the case in 1997 (according to a very early web.archive.org site link), and in 1999 and 2000. In the early hours of Feb 14, 1996, Justin Snyder was working the graveyard shift at a 7-11 convenience store. Keeping him company was his six-and-a-half months pregnant wife Sarah. Suddenly, two black males dressed in women's clothing entered the store, the first gunman held a Tech-9 long gun and the second gunman held a pistol. One of them robbed Justin of $50 dollars. As they left, the man with the Tech-9 fired a shot at Sarah, killing her and her unborn fetus instantly. The last known lead on the killers was that one of them was seen making a phone call outside another 7-11 store two hours before Sarah's murder. An attempt to trace the phone call didn't produce any good results. Thoughts? Sadly it appears that this case has gone ice cold. Due to their disguises, it would have probably been hard to identify the killers in the late 90s, so it would be even harder to identify them today. www.lvmpd.com/Sections/Homicide/CasesByYear/19901999/tabid/324/Default.aspxAdmin Note #1: According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police website, anyone with information is urged call the LVMPD Homicide Section at 702-828-3521.Admin Note #2: If you have any news-related updates on this case, please contact us here: amwfans.com/thread/1662/website-contact-form

Sadly this is one of those cases where it may only be solved if the killer (s) are stupid enough to brag to someone. I don't get why they shot Sarah. They got their money what small amount that it was. This pisses me off.

I think I now know what cold case detectives that handle unsolved murders go through most of the time. "Most of the easy cases have been solved, but we have nothing to charge someone with for a horrible crime. I really find my job depressing and hopeless at times." What I mean by that is that DNA, fingerprints and ballistics is probably not useful in this case. So aside from one of the killers bragging about the crime to someone, you really can't link it to anyone, especially since the photos are so old. This must happen most of the time with cold case murders sadly.

I'm not a fan of capital punishment, but anyone who shoots and kills a pregnant woman with a Tec-9 for no reason deserves it. It would be a miscarriage of justice if they didn't get it.

Holy crap. This was not a case I was expecting to be solved anytime soon! I'm betting that cops didn't have evidence to charge the guys, despite an identification.

I was reading up on this case and it looks like this was a case that was solved by an "external review."
Basically, this means they bring in fresh detectives to solve a case. This very often means they may start over on a case. Cases that have been solved by external reviews include Martha Moxley's homicide, Adam Walsh's homicide, and Jacob Wetterling's abduction and murder.
There were two LVPD retired Detectives they brought in and they made this their top-priority case. Glad when good, hard police work pays off.
