DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) -- One year after the shooting death of 27-year-old Justin Royster, Durham Police are still looking for the murder suspect.
Royster was gunned down around 11:15 p.m. on May 3, 2018, in the 400 block of Canal Street.
Police have charged 28-year-old Donnelle Wilkerson with murder but have not been able to find him
Another unidentified man was taken to the hospital that night with non-life-threatening injuries.
The incident did not appear to have been random, police said at the time of the crime.
Anyone with information on Wilkerson's whereabouts is asked to call Investigator J. Mitchell at (919) 560-4440, ext. 29335 or CrimeStoppers at (919) 683-1200. CrimeStoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in felony cases and callers never have to identify themselves.

Thoughts? As far as I can tell, Wilkerson is still at large as of this posting date (5/3/2020- exactly two years after the alleged murder) since he is still listed on Durham Crime Stoppers as a wanted fugitive. I'm admittedly not 100 percent sure since they sometimes list at-large fugitives who have in fact been captured but if he has been captured and/or is captured in the future, anyone is more than welcome to let us know via our website contact form.
An emotional interview was done with Justin Royster's mother last year and in it she says Wilkerson and Royster had some disagreements prior to Royster's death. She believes the argument that lead to Royster's death may have been over a girl. If that is true, that is just ridiculous: www.wral.com/i-need-closure-durham-mother-hopes-for-justice-one-year-after-son-s-death/18362436/
