KIRKSVILLE, Mo. — Police in Kirksville are trying to track down a man wanted in connection with a shooting incident in the early morning hours of Sunday.
On March 15, 2020, at approximately 1:22 a.m., Kirksville police were dispatched to the area of Cottonwood and Mulanix streets for a report of shots fired.
When officers arrived in the area, they learned that shots had been fired at a residence in the 300 block of East Hickory Street.
Officers talked to a resident of the home and were informed a man identified as Bradley Eugene Chapman, 39, had fired a pistol at another person who had just arrived at the residence.
Police were informed that Bradley Chapman fled the area in a maroon Chevy Tahoe. The Chevy Tahoe was later found abandoned in the 2100 block of North Walnut and recovered by police.
While officers were investigating the shooting, they were dispatched to the 500 block of West Walker Street for a report of a stolen vehicle. It was a tan, 1989 Jeep Comanche, with Missouri handicap plate 2GR29. Police believe the theft of this vehicle is related to the shooting. At this time, Kirksville police do not believe anyone was injured during the shooting.
Chapman currently has valid warrants for his arrest from Missouri Probation and Parole for absconding supervision on original charges of resisting arrest and tampering and from Schuyler County, Missouri, for resisting and assault.
Police will be seeking additional charges related to the shooting.
Chapman is described as a white male, 5’8” tall, weighing 175 lbs, with blond hair and blue eyes. Bradley Chapman also has multiple tattoos on his arms, chest and abdomen. Chapman is known to frequent Adair, Schuyler, Sullivan and Putnam counties.
