Awesome news. I figured once the pressure was on he would be caught or give himself up.

Brown may have gone to Mexico for a bit, nut no doubt returned to the USA in time. He is probably partying it up in Panama City, Florida or something. What I always wonder about fugitives is how they know when to move on to somewhere else. They must develop a sixth sense of knowing when the net is closing in on them. Speaking of which, has anyone watched the new CBS show Hunted? People are given a chance to go on the run and evade capture by the authorities. If they stay on the run long enough they win a cash prize. The show certainly shows how easy it is for authorities to trace peoples whereabouts and also how clueless some people are about hiding. One couple used an ATM at a Greyhound station and got on the bus to Atlanta where their parents lived. Needless-to-say they were caught very quickly.

I would love to see Dan Hiers added to the top 10. I know he is on the Marshals list, but this guy needs as much attention as possible.

Oh I agree, while he most likely won't be caught by someone recognizing him, he will get caught because too many people related to him know or have known his whereabouts. I would be surprised if he has even been all that active in hiding. Probably just a name change and living normally in Mexico or Belize.

He is going to be hard to catch based on someone recognizing him. Who knows what he looks like, and if he looks anything like those age-progession images, he looks like half of the southwest.

I would be surprised to see this guy last 12 months on the Top Ten.

Hiers deserves to be on both. He should be a top priority fugitive as he is likely still alive and eminently catchable.

I wonder why Dan Hiers has not been added to the FBI Top Ten? Does his inclusion on the US Marshals list make it a moot point?

What are the chances Van Wisse has stayed out of trouble all this time? The fact the family aren't cooperative at all certainly suggests he is still alive.

Van Wisse really has been a fugitive for the majority of his life. That being said, his case has been rather low-profile and very few seem to have been looking for him. He could have been living with a fair amount of freedom for many years. I wonder if the key to catching him is someone recognizing a person they know who fits his description having suddenly disappeared? His addition to the Top 10 will certainly change his behaviour.

He is probably holed-up in a villa somewhere in Belize living off family money. He has largely been unknown so he wouldn't have had to lay low. Also given that we only seem to have one picture of him, who knows what he looks like now.

Hopefully someone in his family folds, they clearly know where he is and will now be feeling the pressure. This publicity might lead to them or Van Wisse himself doing something rash or stupid that leads to his capture.

What leads to young offenders being caught more easily as long-time fugitives? Carelessness as they feel their crime was a lifetime ago and they will never be caught?
