I'll vote for Malave and Preston-Washington. Those two advance to the finals. Whoever wins this match-up will be our choice for best capture of the 10th century of captures! James H Malave, #956, Ags 14, 2007 In July 1999, he shot and killed a Pennsylvania man in an argument over an air mattress. In June 2004, someone in New York said hello to a woman Malave was interested in, and Malave killed that man in an argument. He also wounded 2 people in other petty arguments in the interim. He was mentioned once in 2005, then given a full airing in the summer of 2007, from which he was busted in Brooklyn, New York. He won't be eligible for parole until he's served at least 2 decades. vs Colvin "Twin" Preston Washington, #927, Apl 2, 2007 In January 2007, he and several others robbed a South Carolina apartment, held a family hostage, and got into a shootout. The target family's youngest child, a 2 year old girl, was killed, and 2 others were wounded. Cops quickly rounded up the other killers but Preston-Washington got away. An amw.com tipster busted him in Rosewood, South Carolina, and he sneered at the cameraman during his walkshot. When he was brought into court, he expressed absolutely no remorse. He was sentenced to life without parole. I voted Child Killer Colvin "Twin" Preston Washington as a winner in this one

The semifinals. I feel like it took a little too long to get here! Jacer Medina, #980, Fbr 21, 2008 In January 1994, Eduardo Flores was driving drunk in Illinois with Medina in the passenger's seat. A man reported them to police and got them arrested for DUI. In April, they shot him to death in retaliation. A few days before October 2004, Eduardo Flores was picked up as an empty capture. In late February 2008, 13.8 years after the murder, an amw.com tipster busted Medina in Memphis, Tennessee. He's since been sentenced to 56 years in prison. vs James H Malave, #956, Ags 14, 2007 In July 1999, he shot and killed a Pennsylvania man in an argument over an air mattress. He won't be eligible for parole until he's served at least 2 decades. and Jeremy "Slep" Dunn, Marceill Easterling, and Daquan "Cakemix" Stevens, #992/#993/#994, Apl 4, 2008 The Unknown Mamadou Barry Killers. In November 2005, an entrepeneur named Mamadou Barry had been tied up in a shower, some plastic was wrapped over his face, and he'd suffocated, and as he died his apartment was ransacked. The motive was eventually revealed to be a cheap form of corporate espionage, as revealed by some broken receipts found in a shoe storage house. In December 2006, the case was aired on AMW. In April 2008, tips had led to a gang called the International Robbing Crew, a gang so flagrant that even low-level criminals had complained about them. From the autumn of 2005 to the autumn of 2007, the other Robbing Crew members had also killed 7 other people. The Mamadou Barry killer suspects went to trial in April 2009, and Daquan was convicted of 2 counts of murder and sentenced to 3 life terms + 3/4 century. vs Colvin "Twin" Preston Washington, #927, Apl 2, 2007 In January 2007, he and several others robbed a South Carolina apartment, held a family hostage, and got into a shootout. Ok, after a tiny breather here's what I could find on 1050-1099! I found A LOT of interesting case updates! Most interesting ones yet! #1053- Ramon "Speedy" Contreras- sentenced to 12-18 months #1054- Orson Mozes- although I don't know his conviction there is a pretty shocking update- his daughter has accused him of molesting her when she was a child but the Santa Barbara DA refused to press charges. There is a petition to get them to: www.change.org/p/help-zoie-find-justice#1056- Ricardo Rivera Torres- I found an article on his trial but not if he was convicted or not- he faced a maxium of 40 years, however. #1058/#1059- Darak Williams- a pretty bizarre update- a Judge in a non-jury trial found Darak mainly responsible. Williams, an African-American Jew, ranted at the Judge and accused of him being Anti-Semitic. Reddish did not go unscathed- according to an article I found (not the one below) she did plead guilty to involuntary manslaughter and got 10 years. (As horrific as this case is- I have some sympathy towards Reddish- it seems Williams really was the main bad guy here). thetimes-tribune.com/news/williams-gets-life-in-prison-for-girl-s-murder-rails-at-judge-1.1098547#1061- Russell McCollum- sentenced to about 21 years #1062- Brandon Cheville- sentenced to 5-years probation #1070- Joseph Fontana- sentenced to life in prison- and based on his inmate search photo he now looks like a bald Gordon Ramsey. #1072- Pierre Domville- I am unsure what the status of his case is- he was in prison- supposed to serve about 8 years- but he now has an "out of department custody by court order" on the Florida inmate site. There is a controversy in his case because it turns out the Judge in the case was Facebook friends with Domville's Prosecutor. So whether or not Domville is just out until this is resolved or not or is released entirely I don't know. #1082 Ricardo Lecky however was sentenced to 14 years and appears to still be in custody. #1075- Dion Hayes- sentenced to 25 years to life, but had three attempted murder convictions overturned on appeal. Basically he has some chance of getting out when he used to have none. #1079- Benny Horton- sentenced to 9 years and 6 months #1081- Raymond Dale Cooper- sentenced to roughly thirteen years plus is now a registered sex offender for life #1083- Yosef Patrick- sentenced to 23 months in prison #1085- Roshard Whitehead- FOUR life sentences! Love it when they don't go easy on child predators. #1089- Chad Schaffner- From the FBI: serve 26 life sentences in prison, with 14 of them to run consecutive to each other, for convictions of a total of 13 robberies, including 11 banks, one credit union and one retail store, and use of a firearm during these robberies. Ouch. #1095- Alex Miller- sentenced to 26 years Ok. there's all I could find for now from the 1000's! I don't Believe that the Mongols members get lesser sentence and release early, To me it's was a slap in the face.

Got bored and decided to look up fugitives from 900-950 that we didn't have sentencing information for. Maybe I'll go back to earlier capture centuries but danwind did a pretty good job with those! If I don't say anything for a particular capture it's because no information could be found.: #901 Samuel Lydell Morton- Unsure of sentence but he is scheduled to be released on December 2nd, 2030, meaning regardless of when he was convicted, he would have spent about 24 years in jail since capture. #907 Robert Hanright- Sentenced to 10 years, I think. The following is the link (just enter Hanright) which is rather confusing: business.nh.gov/Inmate_locator/default.aspx#908- Ronnie Wright- Enhanced sentence of 45 years plus 2 years probation. #913- Beatriz Hernandez- Only received 5 years! This was apparently as a result of testifying against an accomplice. #924- Orthia Porter- Sentenced to 29 years in prison #925- William Pumphrey- While I don't know what went on with the charges he was on AMW for he was eventually sentenced to 10 years in prison with 10 years supervised release for child pornography charges: www.fbi.gov/albuquerque/press-releases/2011/aq012011.htm#927- Colvin Washington- Life without parole #930- Willie Cardell Sanders- Unsure of sentence, but he doesn't get out until 2042. #933- Mikhail Drachev- As we now know, sentenced to 37.5 years. #934- Jesse Cole- Unsure of sentence, but will be released in 2021 so around decade-15 year range. #941- Christopher James Jackson- Sentenced to 10 years in prison #945- Vincent LeDoux- Sentenced to 40 years #948- Deonte Davis- Sentenced to 25 to 50 years. Eligible for parole in 2032. Out by 2057. I think it's time looks up for updates on captures of 1000-1099 for the next round of AMW's Centuries capture contest

It's down to 5 captures, so we have to vote to eliminate one of them. Ronald Jerome Jones (#921) Jacer Medina (#980) James H Malave (#956) The Mamadou Berry Killers (#992/#993/#994) Colvin "Twin" Preston Washington (#927) I voted off Ronald Jerome Jones

Before I cast my votes, I want to say that all six of these takedowns were really great captures. Vote #1: Mine goes to James Malave for two murders, two non-murder causality victims and his serial crime nature, making him possibly a FBI classified serial killer. Vote #2: Mine goes to the International Robbery Crew members since AMW tips led to the arrest of three really dangerous people, and I'm assuming at the time of the 2006 airing, the killers were all unidentified. Vote #3: Mine goes to Colvin Washington for the shootout that left a two-year old toddler dead and two other people wounded, and his 100% lack of any remorse for his actions. Same here, I also vote for James Malave, International Robbery Crew Killers and Colvin Washington

I'll vote for Anatoliy "Tolik" Valenko and my screen-namesake Calvin Allen Bennett. Twin defeats Tolik 3 to 1, and Bennett vs Lin-Wang ended in a 2 to 2 draw. I have to flip a coin. If heads, Calvin. If tails, Fu Lin. Aaand... THH! Calvin Allen Bennett advances! LeaAnn Howard and Byron Keith Perkins, #935/#936, Apl 25, 2007 The Kidney Couple, and two of John Walsh's Top Ten Fugitives of 2006. Perkins became "The most hated man in America" in February 2006 for the way he escaped a Louisville, Kentucky prison: This convicted armed robber and drug trafficker pleaded for a temporary release from prison in order to donate a kidney to his ailing 16 year old son Destin. Instead, he fled with his girlfriend LeaAnn Howard, who was also wanted for orchestrating an attempt on her previous boyfriend's life. By the end of 2006, Destin had luckily found a donor. After being added to the US Marshals' 15 Most Wanted and John Walsh's Dirty Dozen, they were busted partying in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Perkins was soon sentenced to 42 years in prison. vs Ronald Jerome Jones, #921, Mrc 12, 2007 In August 1983, in Virginia, he suffered a knee injury and needed 5 Dollars for treatment. He falsely blamed his girlfriend for stealing the bill, and beat her to death. His accomplice found the bill on the floor of the hotel they were renting. 23 1/2 years later, he was busted, homeless on the streets of Greensboro, North Carolina, off a 15 Seconds of Shame airing. Since then, he got 4 decades in prison. and Alan J Horowitz, #940, May 22, 2007 An Ivy League graduate, child psychologist, ordained Orthodox Rabbi, and active NAMBLA member. From 1983 to 2006, he'd sexually assaulted at least 50 underage boys. Some of his victims were from families in Israel, and many more were his male patients. He traveled across 5 countries before his airing on the 15 Seconds of Shame, from which he was busted in India. vs Jacer Medina, #980, Fbr 21, 2008 In January 1994, Eduardo Flores was driving drunk in Illinois with Medina in the passenger's seat. I voted for The Kidney Couple and Medina

Davnielle and the Mamadou Killers advance. Colvin "Twin" Preston Washington, #927, Apl 2, 2007 In January 2007, he and several others robbed a South Carolina apartment, held a family hostage, and got into a shootout. He was sentenced to life without parole. vs Anatoliy "Tolik" Valenko, #968, Nvb 28, 2007 In November 1995, cops in Brooklyn believe he killed his two roommates, dismembered them with a buzz saw, and scattered the pieces throughout the East Coast's mountains and ocean scenery. Valenko and Vladimir Balachov were introduced in January of 1997 and profiled upwards of 5 times over 10.9 years. Tolik was busted in the Netherlands, the third Direct Result capture in Western Europe after James Stacy (#365, France) and Selim "Jake" Kelmendi (#540, Germany). In circa 2008, the courts declared him incompetent to stand trial, and are still trying to enable him to go to trial but it's been difficult. In 2010 or 2011, Vladimir Balachov may have got his charges dropped. By 2013, he may have been enabled to stand trial and sentenced to life. and Calvin Allen Bennett, #912, Nvb 19, 2006 For almost a year, he'd been hiding out in an elderly Arkansas couple's barn. In October 2006, he robbed and brutally murdered them, tied their bodies to a rope connected to the hitch of a truck, and dragged the bodies into the woods, disconnected them, and left the bodies to decay. Somehow he managed to steal their truck and make his getaway. On Nvb 18, 2006, he was aired on America's Most Wanted, and John Walsh made him the newest member of his Dirty Dozen list. In the fastest capture of a Walsh DD12 fugitive, an 18 year old college girl in Rothschild, Virginia had been dating him, saw the show, and busted him in the morning of Nvb 19. He's now serving life in prison without parole. vs Fu Lin Wang, #985, Mrc 16, 2008 A drunken, controlling wife beater known for threats against his ex-wife and her family. The abuse was so bad that he constantly got into legal trouble over the course of 1/2 decade. In December 1998, he killed his ex-wife and stepson in California as payback. The bullets missed 6 other people. After he was uploaded to amw.com, the media raised interest in the case, and cops acting off a tip sent through the website busted him in a Chicago Chinatown apartment in front of 3 other men. He's now serving life in prison. I voted for Washington and Bennett

The Kidney Couple defeats Kenneth John Freeman 3 to 2, and Ronald Jerome Jones defeats Bobby Jo Weatherton 5 to 0. Richard Wesley Gibbs, #910, Oct 12, 2006 A disgraced Pennsylvania college professor. From 1987 to 2006, he sexually assaulted almost 50 underage boys across the US. He was forced to retire when the allegations came about, and despite his age, his retirement was considered early. On July 31 (Wizard's Night) 2006, he skipped on his trial. In late August 2006, AMW aired a special feature called "Criminals in the Classroom", about teachers and professors who sexually abuse children, in which Gibbs was given a short airing. He was busted working at a bar-and-grill in Bocas Del Toro, Panama, and extradited within the week. He was sentenced to 12 to 30 years in one prison, but other jurisdictions also want to incarcerate him, so he probably will never leave prison alive. vs Alan J Horowitz, #940, May 22, 2007 An Ivy League graduate, child psychologist, ordained Orthodox Rabbi, and active NAMBLA member. From 1983 to 2006, he'd sexually assaulted at least 50 underage boys. Some of his victims were from families in Israel, and many more were his male patients. He traveled across 5 countries before his airing on the 15 Seconds of Shame, from which he was busted in India. and Mikhail Drachev, #933, Apl 20, 2007 An enforcer for a steroid dealership. In December 2001, one of their former members had been arrested, and agreed to inform on them, hoping to cut his losses. Drachev and several other men savagely beat the informant while he was on the phone with an Arizona police detective, stabbed him, blew him up, and buried him under a pile of rocks. The informant crawled into a nearby river and drifted a short distance down before succumbing to his injuries. AMW aired the case at least 5 times, starting on September's Eve 2002. He was #7 on the beta version of Walsh's Top 10 Fugitives of 2002, and was named to many AMW fans' year-end most wanted of 2002 lists. In April 2007, an amw.com tipster led cops to Toronto, Canada, where he was busted before he could position a 100-foot climbing rope to flee. He was later convicted of his role in the murder and sentenced to 3 3/4 decades in prison. vs Jacer Medina, #980, Fbr 21, 2008 In January 1994, Eduardo Flores was driving drunk in Illinois with Medina in the passenger's seat. I voted for Gibbs and Drachev
