Btw, it sounds like Timothy Mobly was an indirect capture. I'm not good at determining those things, but the tipster got suspicious of his frequent violent sex talk, went to the FBI's website and saw his picture there and phoned the authorities.

Timothy Mobly was apprehended not long afterwards. He jumped bail, was caught again, then put on 5 million dollars bail, then sentenced to 3 consecutive life terms, so he is probably never getting out. He committed his crimes in Sparks, NV and had fled to Mexico.

December 18, 1999 (594 fugitives caught to date, last show of the 90's)
Captured: Ronald Fleming - Michigan child molester of young boys caught in Chicago during first week of December, 1999.
Captured: Robert Bryant - Last remaining member of quartet wanted for sextuple murder in Baltimore was captured (was profiled on previous week's show)
Miguel Rangel - Is wanted for shooting his girlfriend to death in front of their 6 year old son.
Captured: Kathleen Soliah - Member of SLA who committed many crimes in the early 70's such as the kidnapping of Patty Hearst, numerous bank robberies and the murder of an innocent bystander has finally been apprehended. She is selling copies of her cookbook in an attempt to raise money for her defense. Still looking for her boyfriend James Kilgore.
Alvaro Jara - Gang member wanted for the murder of a young boy.
Timothy Mobly - 26 year old man wanted for prolonged, brutal rapes (he placed one victim in the trunk of a car, then a suitcase).
Update: Evans (first name not revealed?) - Child molester committed suicide while on the run, his three young kids have turned up safely.
Xiana Fairchild - Girl from Vallejo, CA is missing. (Her remains turned up a little over a year later. In 2005, Curtis Dean Anderson pleaded guilty to her kidnapping, rape and murder. He was already serving a 251 year sentence for sexually assaulting another girl from the same city and may have more victims. It is near impossible he will ever get out of prison).
Eric Quesada - Wanted for killing a teenager and shooting at three other teens.
Ernesto Hernandez & Erica Ariano - Wisconsin couple wanted for abusing their young child to death. A police officer stopped them as they were walking along the interstate in the middle of the night in Michigan, but let them go after they gave him false identities.
AMW off for the next two weeks because of the holidays.
Also, about half of the 12/11/99 episode preceded this on the disc. However, it was mostly repeat segments, and that also includes most of the missing half (which I can tell from the rundown at the tail-end of the episode). The only ones that appeared new to me were the following:
Pedro Santa-Ana - Wanted for slitting his girlfriend's throat and fleeing the scene.
William Zepeda - Wanted for double murder near Atlanta, GA.

HOLY TOLEDO!!
This awesome series hasn't aired in the U.S. in at least a dozen years, now it's coming to the Justice Network. William Shatner (Star Trek, Weird Or What?) hosted this popular series from the late 80's through the mid 90's, featuring people being rescued from dire circumstances.
Seriously, this Justice Network is almost too good to be true.

Yes Pakman, I'm sure it's Nick Stoumbelis since everything seems to fit. And FACES was featured heavily in the segment.
I read part of that article on Ryan Harris (not the whole thing since it's very long). It seems sympathetic to Floyd Durr, who has sexually assaulted numerous girls. In my mind, there is no mystery, he is responsible. He had a history of doing that sort of thing, DNA linked him to the crime and he entered a "no contest" plea. I really do not think young boys could have been responsible for such a vicious murder.
It seems some were trying to argue he was not the killer because of the possibility that he masturbated near her corpse (which he said he did do), but left and the boys killed her. That is ridiculous. So he found her dead, masturbated near her but elected not to tell the authorities?

partial 1998 episode (aired week after the last one I reviewed), 521 fugitives caught to date
Captured: John Grub - Bank robber from last week captured.
Jimmy Lawson - Is wanted for murdering Cheryl Ann Durkin, who used a chainsaw to cut off her head, arms and legs. His mother buried parts of her body in two different states and was arrested. Mother now pleading for son to turn himself in.
Ryan Harris - Update to this case of a Chicago girl who was murdered. 2 boys (one 7, one 8) were arrested, becoming the youngest people in the country to ever become murder defendants (?!?!), but thankfully released after it was proven they didn't do it. Search for real killer continues. (Some of the details of this crime are so horrific, I don't feel comfortable mentioning them here.) (Relatives Floyd and Eddie Durr were eventually tied to the crime and both are behind bars. Ironically, one of the boys would go to be convicted of a different crime. Sadly, Ryan's cousin Shaneda Lawrence was also killed, in a park named after Ryan while attending a family funeral no less).
"South Florida Rapist" - Searching for a white man who has sexually assaulted three black girls in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Identity unknown.
And on that note, I believe that is the last of the 98 episodes and that is a blessing in disguise because if Eric Rudolph or Alan Golder popped up one more time, my head was liable to explode. I believe the next ones that are going to be reviewed are a bunch of 1999 ones and possibly a 2000.

Ah, here we go. Guadalupe and Anders Gurrola. articles.latimes.com/1998/feb/04/local/me-15346That officer worries me. "A gasoline can was found in the vehicle's front seat, but the cause of the fire has not been determined, LaBarbera said." Uhhhhhh, dur, you think it might have been arson, especially since they were robbed and killed?

uh, well that LA episode turned out to be just the first two segments with rest of episode not present, but I'll combine that with another episode that was JIP (joined in progress) I believe both of these are from 98from LA
Carol Schlosberg - Vermont woman who was raped, mutilated and murdered while vacationing in Mexico. Numerous eyewitnesses reported seeing her murder, but case remains unsolved as of this broadcast. Mexican police have been accused of being lackadaisical in their approach to the case. (two men eventually apprehended) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carol_SchlosbergCaptured: Markeith Braxton - Man wanted for Los Angeles murder in previous broadcast was apprehended, had been living in Kansas City, Missouri with other criminal relatives. episode joined in progress
Captured: Patrick Adkins - Rapist from previous broadcast, who raped women in both U.S. & Canada, was apprehended. Tracey Poirer & Pam Trimble - again Update: Margaret Rudin - Confirmed sightings in Phoenix, AZ. She escaped captured there and changed her appearance again. Update: Sam Sheinbein - In this high-profile case, judge rules Sheinbein can return to U.S. (which is what most Israeli citizens wanted), however he prefers to remain in Israel. He fled there after committing murder. Israel firmly believes in rehabilitation and his prison conditions were favorable. (later died in prison): en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samuel_Sheinbein Dennis Williams - One of the biggest producers of meth in the Midwest is sought. John Dennis Grub - Has robbed many banks on the East Coast and not attempted to disguise his identity. Guadalupe & Andres Garello - Father and 15 year old son were killed via shots to the head and their car burned. The motive was robbery. 4 Hispanic men sought in connection. (can't immediately find anything on this one, I may have the last name misspelled). Antoinette Ross & Isavier Teague - 16 year old girl and her young nephew missing out of Fresno, CA (can't immediately find anything on this one either). David Walker - Quickie profile of man wanted for 1986 murder of Henry (last name unintelligible).

Next up is a work in progress: Crime Stories. So far, I have 8 discs with 4 episodes each for 32 episodes currently, however this set is expanding. Crime Stories is produced in Canada and features mostly a mix of Canadian and American stories, with ones from other countries such as Australia popping up now and then. This show also focuses on cases from several decades ago, although newer ones appear occasionally. A wonderfully produced show with many cases not seen on any other true crime show. Here are episode descriptions for the set so far:
Crime Stories Episode Guide
Disc 1
1. The Homicidal Drifter – Michael McGray goes on a killing spree in Canada.
2. The Casebook Rapist – In Canada, a college student is raped and murdered when someone breaks into her apartment.
3. The Tattoo Man: Peter John Peters – A man goes on a crime spree in Canada.
4. The Conservative Killer – Canadian politician Colin Thatcher is suspected in several attacks on his ex-wife JoAnn, the last one having resulted in her murder.
Disc 2

4. The Candyman – Dean Corll horrifically rapes, tortures and murders dozens of teenage boys in Houston, Texas in the early 70’s.
Disc 3
1. The Blacktown Boys – Examining the 1986 kidnapping, gang-rape and murder of nurse and former beauty queen Anita Cobbey near Sydney, Australia. Anita had been walking home one night from a train station when she was kidnapped. The series of crimes captivated the entire continent and led to public outrage. Eventually, 5 men would be rounded up and put on trial.
2. The Love Slave Murders – With the assistance of his young wife Charlene, Gerald Gallego sexually assaults and murders many young women and girls, mostly in Sacramento, California, in the late 70’s and 1980.
3. The Slave Master – Authorities in Kansas learn a man there is luring women from across the country with promises of a well-paying job, but turning them into sex slaves. Many of the women disappear or turn up dead.
4. The Happy Face Killer – Authorities are shocked when an older woman claims that she and her boyfriend were responsible for the rape and murder of a young woman, and become even more shocked when a man claims the couple is innocent and that he committed the murder, as well as the murders of 7 other people.
Disc 4
1. The BTK Strangler – The BTK (Bind, Torture, Kill) Strangler kills many residents in Wichita, Kansas in the 70’s, then goes mostly silent until the mid-2000’s, when he resurfaces.
2. Teenage Terrors – In Calgary, Alberta, Canada, residents are shocked when three seemingly good-natured 15 year-olds from the Asian community stand accused of murdering security guard Evan Chu, a popular figure in the community.
3. The Menthol Murderer – In usually low-crime rural Indiana, residents are shocked and horrified when 10 year old Katie Collman is sexually assaulted and murdered.
4. The Woodchipper Wife Killer – Examining the disappearance of Danish-born flight attendant Helle Crafts, who vanished from her home in Newtown, CT in November, 1986 during a snowstorm. Soon, it becomes apparent that she was killed by her husband Richard and her remains fed through a woodchipper.

Police look at many suspects, but years pass with no resolution. The U.S. assists in the case and eventually Clifford Sleigh is linked through DNA and sent to prison.
2. The Murderous Mastermind – In 1971 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, the owner of a travel agency is found shot to death in his office on a quiet Sunday morning. most of episode from April 26, 1998, from Miami, Florida (not far from where the Walshes used to live, incidentally)
Amy Bradley - Rather famous case of 23 year old woman who vanished on a cruise ship that was traveling to Curacao. Numerous theories have surfaced over the years. (Also profiled on Unsolved Mysteries and Vanished with Beth Holloway).
Alan Golder - AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! (pulls hair out)
Jeffrey Durham - another airing!
Fernando Alfaro - Last remaining member of a trio wanted for breaking into the mansion of Katherine Ford in Palm Beach, FL and stealing 7 million dollars worth of jewelry.
Mario Pallango - Quickie profile of man wanted for molesting two girls.
Jesus, that episode sucked. Next one is from Los Angeles though and appears to be better. Certainly would be no shortage of LA cases to present, either then or ever.

Incidentally, one of the few stories on this show that made it to YouTube was that of Tamara Griffis, a toddler kidnapped by her non-custodial mother Adella Griffis. They lived in Georgia. I can't find anything about this case on the internet. I'd have to assume Tamara was recovered, but would like to know for sure.

April 18, 1998 (educated guess) Jimmy Neal Hays & Shannon Luddigton - Young "Bonnie & Clyde" couple wanted out of Texas for various crimes, and authorities fear they may graduate to more serious crimes. Shannon stands 6'1 and is two inches taller than her boyfriend. Update: "Tie Robber" - Identified as Frances Joseph Reilly, but was still on the loose as of this broadcast. He has a criminal history that dates back to the 60's. Update: Richard Aderson - Man who was gunned down on the expressway by unknown assailant after a minor traffic accident. Several clues were mentioned previously and update says suspect may be a cop, or was one in the past. (Also profiled on Unsolved Mysteries). Still unsolved 20 years later. Chad Frantzich - 25 year old world-travelled adventurer was killed in a hit-and-run accident near Laguna Beach, CA. His girlfriend managed to get a partial license plate and partial description of vehicle, but suspect still unidentified. Irma Luna - Girl was kidnapped from New York state by Andres Escobar. Doris Inzunza - Was a pioneering member of Sacramento Survivors of Stalking after being mistreated by two previous love interests. She disappeared from her home one night. Still missing 20 years later. www.charleyproject.org/cases/i/inzunza_doris.htmlKristin Modafferi - College student disappeared from the infamous Land's End section of San Fran. Also still missing 20 years later. (Also profiled on Unsolved Mysteries). www.charleyproject.org/cases/m/modaferri_kristen.html
