Jose Angel Solorio is wanted by both California and Mexican authorities. He was featured on the old AMW website as a news story somewhere around 2003 (therefore I'm counting him as an AMW fugitive) and was also an FBI Monthly Featured Fugitive at around that time. I checked the San Diego County warrants site and found an active warrant for him, meaning he's still wanted. I don't know however, if he was aired on AMW in the 1990s.
Solorio's story begins in 1980 when he was arrested by the US Border Patrol for transporting illegal immigrants. He got six months in prison and five months probation. In 1981, Solorio was arrested for a homicide in Ciudad Acuna, Mexico, however he and three other inmates later escaped from prison. In late 1984, Solorio was arrested in Tijuana for the kidnapping and armed robbery of a taxi driver. Solorio was arrested but despite being a wanted prison escapee, was paroled from another Mexican prison in 1985.
Solorio then went to the San Diego area where he had family. On Jun 6, 1987, Solorio and his family attended the birthday party of a five-year old girl in the community of Ramona. After getting into an argument with several guests, Solorio was asked to leave. He did but got a pistol from his residence and returned to the party. Solorio then went on a shooting rampage, killing two people and wounding another two victims. He then fled on foot with the pistol, leaving his car behind. Since then, authorities say he's used a friend's birth certificate to obtain a California State Driver's License and travel between the US and Mexico.

Thoughts? The biggest question we all need to ask is why on earth hasn't this case gotten more attention? This is just a horrible case for so many reasons (I couldn't find out the ages of the four people he shot, but I really hope none of them were children since he was at a young girl's birthday party!) Aside from California, authorities believe he could be in San Angelo, Texas, or Chihuahua, Mexico. He has also worked as a cement/steel worker and has two silver-capped upper-front teeth.
I have another question. Did his family know that he had escaped from a Mexican prison after being arrested for murder, and if so, why on earth did they let him attend a child's birthday party with them?
