From sfgate.com (2010 article):
A suspected gang member is being sought in Berkeley's first homicide of the year, police said today.
Kevin Aaron Alvarado, 22, of Berkeley fatally stabbed a man in the chest on the 2100 block of Curtis Street at about 7:40 p.m. Thursday, said Officer Andrew Frankel, Berkeley police spokesman.
The victim was taken to Highland Hospital in Oakland, where he was pronounced dead. His name was not released.
Alvarado is believed to be a member of a gang, but the slaying is not believed to be gang-related, said Frankel, who did not elaborate. He said a motive for the killing remains under investigation.
Alvarado may be trying to flee the country and should be considered armed and dangerous, Frankel said.

Alvarado on Fugitive Watch: www.fugitive.com/tag/kevin-alvarado-wanted-in-berkeley/
Thoughts? Even though the abve article is from 2010 I feel it is relatively safe to assume that Alvarado is still at large as of this posting date (August 5th, 2019) since Fugitive Watch posted about the manhunt for him on their Facebook page last month (See the page's July 6th, 2019 status updates). Granted, they're relatively accurate but I have sometimes see them post a case asking for tips on fugitives I know were already captured (once I saw a 2018 post asking for tips on a fugitive who died in 2011) so if anyone can definitively confirm one way or the other, they are always more than welcome to let us know.
