Barnard has been stickied to the top in preparation for this week's The Hunt. This is one of The Hunt cases I was looking forward to the most this season, mainly because not counting list additions, he is the first former AMW Fans-Exclusive to make the show!
I also think the nation will be sickened by this man's alleged actions- and rightfully so.

Just wanted to say I sincerely doubt Barnard has only two alleged victims. So while I don't have any official connection to The Hunt, I do know from years of watching how supportive John Walsh has always been of victims and if anyone wants to speak up and come forward they can remain anonymous when calling the hotline tonight and don't have to be afraid. Everyone Barnard has hurt deserves justice. You're not doing anything wrong by making sure this guy hopefully is behind bars for the rest of his life if he's caught and found guilty.
Wow. It's been a long time since I've been truly disgusted by a case AMW/The Hunt has profiled. But Victor Barnard's case is easily the most vile I've seen profiled on The Hunt, and easily the most infuriating. Were these people seriously so blind that they couldn't see what was happening in front of their eyes? This could have been stopped years ago if just one person had come forward; I'm not talking the victims, since I know how much fear they have, but someone who saw these girls constantly hanging out with this guy.
Thank God those two victims had the courage to come forward.

And even the sheriff said the same thing I said before the episode about more victims not being afraid to come forward tonight. I certainly don't blame them for being afraid. But should they come forward, I know they will have amazing support.
And yeah, I'm not even a father but when Lindsay was first describing the first time Barnard molested her, I felt a rage inside me.
What was shown tonight is the reason I put this guy on our site before even The Hunt chose to air him.
Since we're discussing religion here, guys like Barnard are worse than the devil himself, since at least the devil doesn't pretend to be someone else.

I will certainly agree that Victor Barnard is a really horrible child molester. Depending on how many children are among his remaining followers, he could have several more victims he's still abusing today.

Not really an update on leads besides the mention that Barnard is still believed to be hiding out in Washington state but an interesting article has come out about how the Barnard case is actually affecting a political race- in this case the one for Pine County Sheriff's Office's head Prosecutor, as there is spot open due to a retirement of the former one. Chief Deputy Attorney Steve Cundy is facing off against a Prosecutor from a neighboring county named Reese Frederickson.
The fact that it took two years to bring charges against Barnard has become an issue. One Sheriff says it's a reflection of the fact that Pine County has a low clearance rate- just 46 percent of the cases it handled were cleared or solved. Frederickson's county has double the clearance rate. Cundy says he tried but was frustrated by a lack of witnesses and worked hard to bring charges. He also says he has more experience than Frederickson and doesn't believe he's ever prosecuted a homicide case.
This isn't to debate who's better or influence the race, just find it rather fascinating that a fugitive is a major issue in one.

Lindsay Tornambe, Barnard's victim interviewed on The Hunt was on Dr. Phil yesterday confronting her father for his inaction. I must admit I'm not the biggest fan of Dr. Phil as I feel like Nancy Grace he some times exploits situations for tv ratings, but I'm glad Lindsay got the chance to confront her father and any publicity that can help lead to Barnard's capture is good.
I don't really have an update- but just wanted to point out for the first time since we had all current members of the USMS Top 15 list on at once (that's all current regardless of whether it's 11, 12 or 15 on the list itself still wanted just to clarify), Dan Hiers is no longer our most viewed fugitive in this section. Barnard is now and has surpassed Hiers in popularity- on this forum at least. Obviously The Hunt airings helped increase awareness of the case- but it still says something. And it says a lot of people want to see him brought to justice. Hopefully this is a sign we can finally see him get caught.
What I still don't get is how everyone and their mother is saying Barnard and his fellowship members are in Washington State, as mentioned by Lindsay on The Hunt and other former members in news articles, and yet he still can't be located. I've heard of hiding in plain sight in another country. But it just frustrates me since it really shouldn't be this difficult in just one state.

I can almost see Barnard going down the same way Warren Jeffs did - a routine traffic stop where the officer realizes who he is after the car is stopped. These religious leader fugitives always go down in the most innocuous way.
