www.texastribune.org/2018/11/14/texas-court-criminal-appeals-death-row-inmate-albert-james-turnerWanted to provide an update on Albert James Turner, a former U.S. Marshals 15 most Wanted fugitive and AMW Capture 1,109 who was sent to death row for killing his wife and mother in law in Texas. In a rare move, they granted him a new trial based on ineffective counsel and sad to say I have to agree with it. He wanted his defense to be that he was innocent and that he was part of a frame job by the mayor and other political bigwigs he had angered. His lawyers vetoed that idea and instead claimed he was guilty but did it in a moment of anger in order to get a life sentence. Their gambit failed but his death sentence and guilty verdicts have been set aside so he can now go with his I was framed defense. As much as I don't like the family (especially the children) having to go through this again, the right call was made here. You have the right to present the defense you want and if you lawyers undercut that, you deserve a new trial, even if you are a cold blooded monster like Turner is. Not sure how he'll be able to explain away the fact his his daughter stated she her father carry out the killings or his son saying he had seen his father with a knife in the house at the time of the murders though.

I do very much remember this guy Albert James Turner but I don't remember it being in Texas but Georgia, or was that some other dirt bag by the name of Turner cause I remember something about police pulling a car out of a pond, swamp, or lake (but I do remember Turner being a former prison guard).

Turner was wanted out of Texas, but the car was drowned in the Chattahoochee River in Georgia.

The retrial for Albert Turner will be held this upcoming May. I don't expect a different verdict then the one before, especially given the fact his own daughter has implicated him in the killings.

Good enough for me, let him rot instead. If nothing else, he won't be in 24/7 lockdown but will be in general population. Good luck with that being a former prison guard.
