AMW aired the case of the murder of Sgt. Greg Martin multiple times on AMW throughout the decade. Martin pulled over a man during a North Carolina highway traffic stop on October 6th, 1996. The then unknown assailant got out and shot Martin at point blank range. 16 years later, Florida resident Scott Vincent Sica was named the killer. The 36-year old Sica has now been sentenced to life in prison. Marc Peterson Oldroyd, of Rockwood, Tennessee and Brian Eugene Whittaker, of Cape Coral, Florida also face charges, including first-degree murder, in connection with Martin’s death. What I find interesting is this paragraph in the article: "On Sept. 17, 2012, Oldroyd’s cousin, Alicia Smith, contacted the FBI after she saw on America’s Most Wanted that a reward for information leading to the killers was being offered. The tip — and previous detective work done by Perry, the Jonesville Police Department, SBI, FBI and Elkin Police Department — helped lead to Sica's arrest" All these solved unknown cases we're now learning AMW helped with! I really wish the website would still exist because I would love to see that capture counter go up! www.journalnow.com/news/crime/updated-jonesville-cop-killer-gets-life-in-plea-deal/article_7776dea8-b437-11e3-aafb-001a4bcf6878.html

Yep, that sounds like a direct capture to me! I'm with you; I wish the site still existed as well. Or at least just update the capture number! Based on this, the capture counter is at least up to #1,207 (three people were arrested in this case).

The Kurt Levias killer possibly as well, and for some reason I get a feeling AMW might have taken credit for Chuy Canales if they were still able to update the site (no articles mentioned AMW besides saying they aired him but just a hunch). We'd possibly be at 1209 or even more.
I hope Walsh's new show will have a site with a capture counter as well.

Finally caught the episode. They never mentioned AMW. Apparently the Detectives were already onto the trio because of the discovery of a stolen vehicle involved in the case belonging to one of them. But hey, articles still credit AMW, so I still count it as an AMW capture as well.

Update: The official cause of death of Sica is now said to not be suicide but "autoerotic asphyxiation." I'd rather not explain what that is here but I'm sure most of us know already. Considering he was a jerk that killed a cop I'm glad his death was of an embarrassing nature. mtairynews.com/news/41981/inmate-died-from-unusual-cause
