From The Tennesseean website (tennesseean.com
Metro Nashville police are searching for a man suspected in the shooting death of Jose Luis Vergara last weekend on Antioch Pike.
Teodoro Ortiz, 42, of Greenbrier, has been named as the suspect in Sunday night's shooting near the Los Paisanos Barra night club.
Warrants for criminal homicide and felony aggravated assault have been issued against Ortiz in connection with the shooting.
According to police, an altercation over a "fender-bender" led to the shooting of Vergara, 27, in a parking lot near the club. A 23-year-old friend of Vergara was wounded in the ankle during the shooting, police said.
Authorities surrounded a Cool Springs business on Monday night for several hours, believing Ortiz might be inside. Police surrounded the area, evacuating people from the building. The Franklin Police SWAT team was called in and eventually entered a vacant. Nobody was inside.
Information on why Ortiz was believed to be in the vacant unit was not immediately available.
A stretch of Seaboard Lane was closed for almost three hours during the standoff.
Anyone seeing Teodoro Ortiz or knowing his whereabouts is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.

Thoughts? Obviously the believed motive behind this senseless killing that Ortiz allegedly committed belongs in our "stupidest crimes hall of hame."
As far as I can tell, Ortiz is still at large as of this posting date (10/14/2018), since I've seen no updates since the initial media blitz a few weeks ago. Nashville is not an easy city to confirm fugitive cases online, however. So if anyone has any updates/proof-of-updates one way or the other, they are always more than welcome to let us know.
